The Great Outdoors

If you are a fan of the great outdoors but do not wish to stray too far from town, then look no further than the Banks Sunset Park, located directly in Banks. This lovely green space is almost entirely run by volunteers and is the venue for a large number of festivals and events throughout the year, such as the Annual Banks BBQ and various sporting games. The park features four baseball fields, some children’s play equipment, a few picnic areas, and a large hall. The park is a great alternative to some of the larger parks in the area, with enough room for everyone to enjoy.

Whether you are hoping for a strenuous full day hike, a picnic with the family or a glimpse of local wildlife, you’ll find it all and more in Tillamook State Forest, located to the west of the city and easily reachable with your Banks camper rental. There are a huge number of trails within the park, such as the Cedar Butte Trail, Peninsula Trail, and Historic Hiking Trail Loop, all of which will give you unique views of this beautiful forest area, offering stunning views and a great way to get closer to nature. The Tillamook Forest Center is also nearby to provide you with guidance and history about the area.

A true urban oasis, Forest Park is one of the largest urban forests in the US, offering over 80 miles of trails just waiting to be explored. The forest can be found on the outskirts of the busy city of Portland, following the eastern slope of the Tualatin Mountains and the Willamette and Columbia rivers. Park your motorhome rental from Banks and take part in one of the many Forest Park Discovery Hikes, which are lead by knowledgeable staff and local experts.

RV Parks

There are many RV parks within an hour’s drive from Banks for you to utilize while you are out on your outdoor recreational vacation. One of which is Scappoose RV Park. The site is relatively small, with only six RV sites, but still has a number of facilities to provide a comfortable stay in your luxury motorhome rental from Banks. Facilities include picnic tables, toilets, hot showers, and a playground for the kids to enjoy while you soak up nature.

Head southeast, and you will find the Willamette Wine Country RV Park, nestled on the banks of the Yamhill River in the beautiful Willamette Valley. This park is located near many attractions such as wineries, golf courses, and an aviation museum. As a fairly large park, there is room for 191 RVs, ranging from 50 to 70 feet in length, all of which are full hookup and come with 20-30-50 amp electricity, water, and sewer connections.
