In the southeastern corner of Connecticut, people have been coming to the town of North Stonington for years to enjoy their vacations. This undisturbed area of Connecticut is quiet and scenic, unlike the more urban areas in the east or the west of the state by New York City.

For ages, the Pequot native peoples proudly presided over the land where North Stonington now sits and maintained control of the area. In the early 17th century, a wave of colonists and explorers began to expand their land holdings and seize land, coming into constant conflict with the native people. After several wars were fought with fierce indigenous peoples along the coastal areas, settlers began to head inland to carve out their own woodlands sanctuaries in the old growth forests of eastern Connecticut. The community of North Stonington was known as “Milltown” for its extensive use of sawmills and grist mills. The local economy largely depended on their mills for centuries until the late 20th century when Interstate 95 was finally introduced into the town, solidifying its role as a charming, rural, New England town. With delightful fall foliage, coastal breezes, and lots of houses built over 400 years ago, it is no wonder why so many eager travelers choose to search for an RV in North Stonington.

The sightseeing in this area is far less in your face and is centered around the scenic and aesthetic beauty. There are several vineyards in town in addition to the bevy of historic structures, giving North Stonington a reputation for being a part of Connecticut's growing wine industry. Sampling a variety of wines at these amazing vineyards is a perfect way to enjoy everything Connecticut has to offer.
