A weekend with friends, couples’ getaway, or family escape–an RV vacation has the potential to be the most fun, recuperative, exciting and carefree experiences you’ve ever had. Still unsure whether the pluses of taking your vacation on the road outweigh the benefits of having a mint on your pillow every night? Consider some of the following perks of renting an RV over a hotel room for your next getaway:

Your Room Goes Where You Do

Outdoorsy Pro Nomad Mobile Motor Lodge provided two vintage Airstreams for a family vacation with ocean view on Martha’s Vineyard.

When staying in a hotel room, you’ve got to plan on traveling back to your room any time you need to change clothes, grab a sweater or your phone charger out of your luggage, shower, take a nap, let the kids recharge, or use the restroom. When renting an RV, there’s no need to travel back and forth for any of those things, as your room literally travels with you. The comforts and convenience of your hotel room, luggage, and belongings are always an arm’s length away.

You Can Keep the Family Together

For larger groups, or parents traveling with more than one or two kids, finding hotel accommodations that fit everyone comfortably can often get tricky–and expensive. Renting a large RV allows everyone to stay together, comfortably, and avoids the need for multiple hotel rooms (and the resort fees, taxes, and room charges that often come along with those reservations.)

Additionally, having everyone together means more time spend actually enjoying your vacation, and less time hunting people down and regrouping at the beginning and end of every day.

You’re Already There

At the beach, on the track, under the stars, by the lake, next to the theme park… wherever your final destination is, renting an RV assures that you’re already there when you wake up in the morning. No need to grab a map, wait for a bus, or call a cab, when you’re ready to get to vacationing, all you have to do is step out of your front door. Home base travels with you wherever you go, and it’s one of the best perks about opting for RV travel as opposed to staying in a hotel or motel while on the road. And if you’re planning on seeing multiple places or doing a long distance road trip, your room travels with you–meaning you won’t have to worry about checking in and out of hotels, leaving things behind, being out by a certain time, or even packing and unpacking more than once!
