St. Ives RV Resort

Campground in Alvin, TX • 137 RV Sites

St. Ives RV Resort in Alvin, Texas, occupies the geographic sweet spot between Houston and Galveston in Brazoria County — a resort-caliber campground that combines the indoor-outdoor amenity infrastructure of a destination RV resort with convenient position for both the Texas coastal experience of Galveston Island and the cultural, dining, and entertainment resources of the Houston metropolitan area. The resort's amenity depth — lazy river, pool, spa, mini-golf, and a dedicated RC racetrack — positions it well above the standard hookup-and-restrooms definition of an RV park, and the combination of full activity programming and Galveston proximity makes it one of the more comprehensively capable Gulf Coast camping destinations in the greater Houston area. Full-hookup RV sites accommodate the broad range of contemporary RV configurations in a well-designed resort layout, and the lazy river, pool, and spa deliver the warm-weather aquatic recreation that makes Brazoria County's subtropical climate an asset rather than a liability. A dedicated dog park serves pet-owning guests, and the resort's event calendar — potlucks, game nights, and organized social programming through the season — creates the community atmosphere that guests traveling for weeks or months specifically seek in extended-stay RV resort environments. Monthly rate discounts serve the snowbird market, reflecting the resort's positioning as one of the Gulf Coast's winter RV destinations in Texas's consistently mild January through March weather window. Golf cart-friendly roads throughout the resort add the personal vehicle mobility that enhances resort exploration. Galveston Island, approximately 30 miles south of Alvin, provides the full Gulf Coast beach experience through Stewart Beach, East Beach, and the scenic Seawall Boulevard that runs along the island's Gulf face. The historic Strand District in downtown Galveston encompasses Victorian commercial architecture from the island's late 19th-century prosperity, a walkable shopping and restaurant district, and the National Historic Landmark designation that reflects Galveston's significance as one of the most architecturally intact Victorian-era cities in the United States. The Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier, built on the pier structure of the old Balinese Room, provides carnival-style rides, games, and food over the Gulf waters in a format that delivers the classic American amusement pier experience with Galveston's specific historic context. The Texas State Aquarium in Corpus Christi is a longer drive for committed visitors, but the Houston Zoo, Houston Museum of Natural Science, and Space Center Houston are all within the greater metro area's day-trip orbit for guests who exhaust the closer-range options. Armand Bayou Nature Center in Pasadena, between Alvin and Houston, provides genuine coastal prairie and bayou ecology in the most immediately accessible wildlife corridor between the resort and Houston proper. St. Ives RV Resort operates year-round in Brazoria County's subtropical climate, with winter snowbird season from October through March representing the most extended stay window and summer bringing peak activity in the pool and lazy river amenities. Galveston's peak beach season from Memorial Day through Labor Day fills the island's accommodation and drives day-trip traffic from the resort's Alvin position. Reserve monthly sites well ahead for the October-March snowbird window, and book weekend sites early for the summer Gulf Coast season.
