Inks Lake State Park, approximately 15 miles from the resort on the next Highland Lake downstream, is one of the most popular state parks in Texas—a 1,200-acre park centered on a spring-fed lake with consistent water level, excellent swimming, fishing, paddling, and hiking in a Hill Country terrain of ancient granite outcrops and juniper-cedar-live oak vegetation. Longhorn Cavern State Park near Burnet provides cave tour access to an interesting geological system with Spanish colonial-era history, and the Vanishing Texas River Cruise on Lake Buchanan offers guided wildlife observation tours for bald eagles, white-tailed deer, and waterbirds during the winter raptor season. Freedom Lives Ranch RV Resort is open year-round, with the Texas Hill Country's mild climate supporting outdoor recreation across all seasons. Lake Buchanan's fishing season is productive from spring through fall, with spring bass and white bass runs attracting regional anglers. - FLR RV RESORT does not accept dogs of any breed that are hostile or aggressive and will be asked to leave the campground along with their owners.
- Dogs must be kept on leashes no longer than 6ft when outside owners' vehicles or units.
- Do not leave a tethered dog unattended.
- Constant barking and pet messes bother other campers.
