Columbia Falls RV Park

Campground in Columbia Falls, MT • 61 RV Sites

In Columbia Falls, Montana—the last full-service town on the road to Glacier National Park's West Glacier entrance and one of the most strategically positioned small cities in the American West for travelers making the Glacier Park pilgrimage—Columbia Falls RV Park holds the distinction of being the only RV park within the city limits, offering big-rig-friendly full hookup sites, free WiFi and cable, clean free hot showers, a 20-by-100-foot fenced dog run, and the personal welcome of 24-hour on-site owners who guide every guest to their site, provide a complimentary morning coffee service, and deliver the kind of attentive host-and-guest experience that makes the difference between a campground visit and a genuine stay. Full hookup sites with city water and sewer accommodate rigs of all sizes in a clean, well-maintained property with mountain views visible across the surrounding Flathead Valley landscape. Two city parks sit within one block of the campground, a public swimming pool is two blocks away, and the Glacier Waterfall Adventure—a water park with slides and attractions—is a quarter mile from the property, creating an immediate activity infrastructure that families with younger children can access on foot from their site. Free WiFi and cable TV service, propane fills, laundry, and a general store cover the practical daily needs of extended stays. The fenced dog run—one of the largest at any Montana campground—provides meaningful exercise space for the traveling pets that accompany most families making the Glacier Park circuit. Columbia Falls sits at the confluence of the North and South Forks of the Flathead River in the broad Flathead Valley, where the agricultural landscape east of Kalispell transitions into the mountain terrain that signals the beginning of the Glacier corridor. The city's character reflects its position as the working-class counterpart to Whitefish's resort-town identity—a real community with a sawmill history, good restaurants, and the practical infrastructure that makes it a better base for budget-conscious Glacier visitors than the premium pricing of the park's gateway communities. The surrounding Flathead National Forest begins immediately east of town, and the North Fork of the Flathead River forms the western boundary of Glacier National Park just beyond the forest edge. Glacier National Park's Going-to-the-Sun Road—arguably the most scenic mountain highway in North America—begins at West Glacier, approximately 16 miles east of the campground, and climbs through 50 miles of glacier-carved valley, alpine meadow, and Continental Divide scenery to Logan Pass before descending to the park's east side. The park's 700 miles of maintained hiking trails, the glacial lakes of Avalanche Creek and Lake McDonald, and the wildlife corridor that makes Glacier one of the few places in the contiguous United States where grizzly bears, wolves, wolverines, and mountain goats exist in their full ecological community provide the complete wilderness experience that draws millions of visitors from around the world. Columbia Falls RV Park operates year-round, giving it a meaningful early-season and late-season advantage for Glacier visitors who can find open sites when the park's campgrounds are still filling from the spring snowmelt. The summer season from mid-June through August represents the peak period when Going-to-the-Sun Road is fully open and the park's trail system is accessible. Fall colors in the Flathead Valley's larch forests—the golden needles of the western larch turning in late September—create one of Montana's most distinctive seasonal displays. Reserve your site at Columbia Falls RV Park and let the only in-town campground in Columbia Falls be your gateway to Glacier National Park's extraordinary Montana wilderness.
