The Barn RV Park

Campground in El Dorado, AR • 36 RV Sites

In the south Arkansas oil country of Union County, The Barn RV Park in El Dorado delivers a clean, meticulously maintained full-hookup facility owned and operated by Howard and Christie Skinner—longtime El Dorado residents who bring genuine community investment to what they've built on Haynesville Highway. The park's 53 level gravel sites with 50-amp electric, city water, and city sewer service represent a level of infrastructure reliability that makes it the preferred choice for both overnight travelers on the I-20 corridor and extended-stay guests working the El Dorado oil and gas sector. Sometimes what a town needs from an RV park is exactly what The Barn provides: solid hookups, an honest price, and excellent maintenance. All 53 sites are level gravel pads with 50-amp electrical connections, city water, and city sewer—a combination that eliminates the voltage anxiety and black tank management concerns that plague guests at less-invested facilities. Free WiFi covers the property, and a well-maintained shower house with full bathroom facilities reflects the standard of upkeep that applies to every aspect of the operation. A 24-hour coin-operated laundry facility handles washing at any hour for guests working irregular schedules, and BBQ grills and picnic tables at each site encourage the outdoor living that characterizes good RV camping. Adjacent to the park, T-Model's Pit Stop provides dining and fuel within walking distance—a practical convenience that overnight guests and extended-stay workers both appreciate. El Dorado sits in the heart of Union County's oil patch country, and the city's history is inseparable from the Smackover oil boom of the 1920s that transformed it almost overnight from a small agricultural town into one of Arkansas's most economically significant cities. That history has left El Dorado with architectural ambitions—including the beautifully restored Rialto Theatre, an anchor of the city's performing arts scene—that surprise visitors who arrive expecting south Arkansas small-town modesty. The Murphy Arts District represents the city's ongoing investment in cultural programming, bringing nationally recognized performers to a purpose-built outdoor amphitheater and indoor venue that have established El Dorado as a legitimate destination for live music in the region. The Murphy Arts District is the most visible expression of El Dorado's deliberate effort to build a cultural identity around its oil boom wealth legacy. The South Arkansas Arts Center provides gallery space and programming in a historic downtown building, and the Walker Art Collection at the Murphy complex provides museum-quality visual art in a city of El Dorado's size. The Mystic Creek Golf Course offers 18 holes of well-maintained parkland golf for guests who want a full active day. The surrounding south Arkansas landscape—rolling Coastal Plain country with productive hunting and fishing in the creek and lake drainages south toward the Louisiana border—provides outdoor alternatives for guests with a longer itinerary. The Barn RV Park operates year-round and serves both highway travelers and the extended-stay market with equal reliability. Monthly rates accommodate workers and long-term guests, and the park's reputation for consistent maintenance makes it a recurring choice for guests who return on regular El Dorado circuits. The combination of honest infrastructure, community ownership, and immediate access to El Dorado's unexpectedly robust cultural and dining scene makes it a more rewarding stop than its highway-adjacent positioning might suggest. Reserve your site and give El Dorado the day it's prepared to deliver.
