Camp HiYo

Campground in Homerville, OH • 58 RV Sites

At 11450 Crawford Road in Homerville, Ohio—in Medina County in the agricultural lake country of northeast Ohio between the commercial corridors of Highway 42 and Highway 224 where the rolling glacial moraines of the Glaciated Allegheny Plateau create the topography that Ohio's summer camping market has built itself around—Camp HiYo delivers 197 full hookup RV sites, two catch-and-release fishing ponds, a full-size swimming pool with a dedicated kiddie pool, two fenced dog parks, and a live entertainment and themed weekend calendar that gives the campground a social energy suitable for both the seasonal camping community and the overnight travelers moving through northeast Ohio. The two fishing ponds, the pool, the nature trails, and the pavilion system constitute the recreational infrastructure; the live music and theme weekends constitute the social glue. One hundred ninety-seven full hookup sites with 20, 30, and 50-amp electric service, water, and sewer accommodate the full range of RV electrical requirements across pull-through and back-in configurations. Three cabin types—standard, pet-friendly, and deluxe—provide the enclosed accommodation options for guests traveling without RVs or preferring a cabin's climate-controlled environment on the warmest Ohio summer nights. The camping pool includes a full-size swimming pool with supervised open swim hours and an adults-only morning swim from 10 to 11 a.m., alongside a one-foot-deep kiddie pool for the youngest guests. Two catch-and-release fishing ponds stocked with bass, sunfish, and catfish give guests on-property angling access without requiring a drive to a public lake, and two fenced dog parks allow the off-leash exercise that Ohio summer campground dogs specifically need in the heat. Large open-air pavilions, dedicated cooking areas, modern restrooms and showers, on-site laundry, and complimentary high-speed WiFi complete the service infrastructure. The nature trails through Camp HiYo's property provide walking access to the wildflowers and wildlife that northeast Ohio's summer landscape produces in the native vegetation along the campground's edges—a passive natural recreation option that the campground's agricultural surroundings make available at a scale that's easy to underestimate until guests actually walk the trails. The combination of fishing ponds, nature trails, and the two dog parks creates a self-contained outdoor recreation environment that guests with no planned agenda can fill comfortably without leaving the property. The live entertainment calendar—weekend music performances, karaoke, theme weekends with organized programming, and potluck dinners with the social gathering dynamic that multi-night campground stays encourage—gives Camp HiYo the programmed community character that northeast Ohio's strong seasonal camping culture specifically supports. Theme weekends organized around holidays, specific activities, or costume themes extend the appeal beyond the conventional camping experience to guests who are specifically looking for a social camping event rather than quiet nature retreat. Camp HiYo is open from April 1 through November 1 in northeast Ohio's camping season. Summer represents peak demand for the pool, the fishing ponds, and the themed weekend entertainment calendar. The spring and fall seasons offer the nature trail wildflowers and the quieter atmosphere that guests specifically prefer when the summer crowd has dispersed. Reserve your full hookup site early for Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends, plan a morning of pond fishing before the pool opens, and let Medina County's lake-country character earn the Camp HiYo reputation for a summer camping experience that the northeast Ohio camping community returns to year after year.
