Two hundred feet from the Warren County Bikeway and 1.5 miles from Lake George Village in Lake George, New York—in Warren County at the southern end of Lake George where the 32-mile glacier-carved lake, the Adirondack Park's 6.1-million-acre wilderness preserve, and the resort town's 19th-century hotel and steamship heritage create one of the most iconic summer destinations in the northeastern United States—King Phillip's Campground, a Modern America Campgrounds property, provides full hookup sites with water, electric, sewer, and cable TV, a deep outdoor pool, a lake, cabins, a recreation center, a game room with arcade and billiards, a general store, a pavilion, a playground, pet-friendly accommodations, and trolley service to Lake George Village operating from the campground entrance during peak season, all within the forested setting that the Warren County Bikeway's paved path through the recreation corridor accesses directly from the campground boundary. Cable TV at every site. Trolley to the Village. The Warren County Bikeway is 200 feet away. Full hookup sites with water, electric, sewer, and cable TV in the Lake George resort corridor provide the infrastructure alongside cabin accommodations for the guest whose Adirondack week requires enclosed comfort after the lake and mountain days. The outdoor pool—eight feet at the deep end—provides the swimming alternative for the days when Lake George's own water recreation draws the boat rather than the shore swimmer, and the recreation center, game room with billiards and arcade, and playground create the on-property activity for the overcast Adirondack afternoon. The peak-season trolley service from the campground entrance to Lake George Village—the beach, the Million Dollar Beach, the Great Escape theme park shuttle, and the Lake George Steamboat Company's lake cruise departures—creates the car-free village access that the summer parking premium in Lake George makes genuinely useful. The Warren County Bikeway, accessible 200 feet from the campground boundary, provides the 9-plus-mile paved trail through the Lake George recreation corridor for cyclists of all ability levels. Lake George sits in Warren County at the southern tip of Lake George, in the resort community that the French and Indian War's Fort William Henry (1755), the Revolutionary War's Burgoyne Campaign (1777), and the 19th-century American grand hotel era have layered with a historical significance that the $1-million-Beach, the Great Escape, and the summer watercraft traffic on the lake's 32-mile surface have added the entertainment overlay to in the modern resort economy. The lake's clarity—visibility to 35 feet in the deep water—and the Adirondack Park's protected shoreline that prevents the private development that New Hampshire's Lake Winnipesaukee, for example, allows create the water quality and visual character that distinguish Lake George from the more developed northeastern resort lakes. Prospect Mountain Memorial Highway's summit at 2,021 feet, 3 miles west of the Village, provides the most accessible Adirondack panoramic viewpoint—the Hudson Valley, Vermont's Green Mountains, and the southern Adirondack peaks visible in the 100-mile full-circle view the paved summit road delivers. The Adirondack Museum in Blue Mountain Lake, 60 miles north, and the Lake Placid Olympic venues, 60 miles northeast, provide the day-trip destinations that extend the Lake George base camp into the broader Adirondack experience. King Phillip's Campground operates seasonally through the Lake George summer, with the Fourth of July fireworks over the lake, the Lake George Jazz Weekend in September, and the Adirondack Balloon Festival in Glens Falls creating the event peaks alongside the standard Memorial Day through Columbus Day family camping season. Reserve your site or cabin at King Phillip's and let the Warren County Bikeway access, the trolley to the Village, and Lake George's 32-mile glacier-carved clarity deliver the Adirondack resort summer that Warren County's most conveniently positioned campground provides.
