Jellystone Park™ Watts Bar

Campground in Loudon, TN • 173 RV Sites

Spread across 74 acres of rolling Tennessee countryside along the shores of Watts Bar Lake in Loudon County, Jellystone Park Watts Bar delivers the nationally recognized Jellystone brand's signature family-resort experience within one of the Tennessee River Valley's most picturesque lake settings. The property's expanse of wooded and open acreage along the Watts Bar shoreline gives it a natural character that complements its programmed recreation infrastructure—creating a resort environment where the lake views and Tennessee countryside are as much a part of the experience as the water parks and themed activities. RV sites, open campsites, and cabin rentals provide a range of lodging options for different camping preferences and group configurations, all within easy reach of the resort's central amenity areas. A multi-level splash park and two outdoor swimming pools anchor the warm-weather recreation programming, ensuring water-based activity options for guests across a broad range of ages and preferences. Themed events, pet-friendly accommodations throughout the property, and a calendar of organized activities during peak season give the resort a day-by-day programming structure that families with children tend to find distinctively engaging compared to standard campgrounds. Watts Bar Lake—a Tennessee Valley Authority reservoir formed by Watts Bar Dam on the Tennessee River—encompasses more than 39,000 acres of surface water across Loudon, Meigs, Rhea, and Roane Counties, and its extensive shoreline and sheltered coves provide productive fishing for largemouth bass, crappie, walleye, and catfish throughout the warm-weather season. The lake's open water supports boating, water skiing, and jet skiing for guests with their own watercraft, and the Watts Bar area's warm Tennessee climate extends the comfortable outdoor season well into October from a spring start in April. The Tennessee River Valley surrounding Loudon County positions the resort within a broader travel context that includes Knoxville—approximately 40 miles northeast—and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park beyond. Day trips to Knoxville's Market Square district, Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga, or the western approach to the Smokies via US Highway 321 give guests staying multiple nights a regional activity context that extends far beyond the resort's immediate surroundings. The Loudon County area itself offers winery visits, heritage sites, and the small-town character of a Tennessee River community that predates the TVA reservoir era. Jellystone Park Watts Bar operates on a warm-season schedule aligned with Watts Bar Lake's peak recreation window, with summer representing the period of highest occupancy when the splash park, pools, and lakeside recreation are all fully operational. Cabin accommodations book earliest in the season and should be reserved well in advance for summer holiday weekends and the busiest July and August periods. The resort's pet-friendly character and diverse accommodation options make it well suited to multi-family group stays, and the lake views and Tennessee countryside setting add a natural dimension that distinguishes this Jellystone property from urban-adjacent alternatives. The resort's 74-acre expanse along Watts Bar Lake, paired with the Jellystone brand's programmed family entertainment infrastructure, delivers a vacation experience that blends natural Tennessee lakeside scenery with the organized activity calendar that families with younger children find most engaging during summer and holiday camping seasons.
