The Parkway RV Resort & Campground

Campground in Orland, CA • 39 RV Sites

The Parkway RV Resort and Campground in Orland, California, offers big-rig-friendly full-hookup sites with water, sewer, and electric service, an outdoor pool, and a boutique shop in Glenn County's upper Sacramento Valley — a well-positioned I-5 corridor campground midway between Sacramento and Redding that gives travelers the upscale amenity infrastructure and practical accessibility that north-state California's hospitality inventory rarely provides outside the major metropolitan centers. Orland's Glenn County position in the broad Sacramento Valley, flanked by the Coast Range to the west and the foothills of the Cascades and Sierra Nevada to the east, gives the campground its agricultural-plain character alongside the outdoor recreation access that the Black Butte Lake reservoir and the wildlife refuges of the Sacramento Valley provide for guests who extend their stay beyond the I-5 overnight stop. Big-rig-friendly sites with full-service hookups, an outdoor pool, and the boutique shop's convenience retail give guests the complete practical amenity set for both quick I-5 overnight stops and longer Sacramento Valley stays. The campground's upscale positioning in the Glenn County market, where the I-5 corridor's limited amenity competition gives a well-maintained resort-style property a specific advantage, reflects an investment in service quality that the through-traveler market specifically rewards with repeat visits when the route requires another north-state California overnight. Pets are welcome. Black Butte Lake, 10 miles west of Orland on State Route 32 in Tehama and Glenn Counties, is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reservoir on Stony Creek providing over 4,600 acres of water recreation in the western Sacramento Valley — bass fishing, boating, water skiing, and swimming in a lake whose western valley foothills position and the surrounding blue oak woodland character create a substantially more scenic environment than the flat agricultural valley floor that constitutes most of Glenn County's visual landscape. The lake's two recreation areas give guests the public access that complements the resort's private pool infrastructure with open-water swimming and boating. The Sacramento National Wildlife Refuges complex — specifically the Sacramento NWR 10 miles south of Orland — is one of the most significant waterfowl wintering habitats in the Pacific Flyway, where millions of ducks, geese, and shorebirds concentrate from October through February in the managed wetland pools that the Sacramento Valley's remnant wetland system sustains against the surrounding agricultural conversion. The driving tour through the Sacramento NWR during peak winter waterfowl season — when snow geese, Ross's geese, pintails, and tundra swans fill the sky above the rice field wetland complexes in numbers that literally darken the horizon — is one of the most spectacular wildlife spectacles in California available to visitors without specialized equipment or backcountry access. The Parkway RV Resort and Campground serves guests year-round in Glenn County's Central Valley climate, with the mild winters from November through March sustaining the Sacramento Valley snowbird and through-traveler market and the summer months delivering the valley heat that the campground's pool specifically addresses. Chico, 15 miles south in Butte County, provides the north-state California college city experience — the Sierra Nevada Brewing Company's taproom and restaurant, Bidwell Park's 3,670-acre urban forest on Big Chico Creek, and California State University Chico's arts and cultural programming make Chico a genuine day-trip destination from the Orland campground base. Reserve sites ahead for summer holiday weekends and any major Sacramento Valley agricultural festivals that draw regional visitors to the Glenn-Tehama-Butte County corridor.
