Horne Lake RV Resort

Campground in Yulee, FL • 73 RV Sites

Tucked into 182 acres of north Florida woodland along the Florida-Georgia state line in Nassau County, Horne Lake RV Resort provides 73 paved full-hookup sites on a property that goes well beyond the overnight I-95 stop its Exit 380 location might suggest—a resort with a heated saltwater pool, a natural lake and ponds for fishing and wildlife observation, and walking trails that give it the substance of a destination campground despite its ideal positioning for the Jacksonville-to-Savannah corridor traveler. The resort's paved pull-through sites, game room, horseshoe pits, playground, and the bass and catfish fishing that the property's lake supports create a complete amenity package in the quiet Nassau County woodlands just minutes from Amelia Island's historic beaches and Fernandina Beach's celebrated Victorian downtown. Seventy-three paved pull-through sites with 30/50-amp full hookup electric, water, and sewer connections provide the level surface and infrastructure that big rigs require, and the heated saltwater pool—a year-round amenity in Nassau County's mild coastal climate—gives the resort an aquatic recreation option regardless of the season. A game room, horseshoe pits, playground, laundry, restrooms and showers, a community fire pit, dump station, and propane service round out the practical and recreational infrastructure for guests from a single overnight to a week-long first-coast Florida stay. RV storage is also available for guests who use Horne Lake as a seasonal base while exploring the surrounding north Florida and coastal Georgia destinations. The resort's 182-acre property encompasses a natural lake and ponds that support bass and catfish fishing in a peaceful north Florida woodland setting that Nassau County's undeveloped interior preserves within minutes of the I-95 corridor. Walking trails through the property's natural terrain provide an immersive Florida woodland experience—live oaks, slash pine, and the saw palmettos carpeting the forest floor—that the developed coastal communities immediately east have largely sacrificed for resort infrastructure. The lake's still waters in early morning reflect the surrounding canopy in the kind of quiet scene that makes a campground feel like a retreat rather than a parking facility. Amelia Island, about 15 miles east via State Road A1A, preserves one of the East Coast's most historically layered and naturally beautiful barrier islands—a community of Victorian inns in Fernandina Beach's National Register Historic District, 13 miles of Atlantic beach, Fort Clinch State Park's Civil War-era brick fortification, and the Spanish moss-draped landscape that provides the visual template for what north Florida looked like before 20th-century resort development transformed the state's coastline. The Cumberland Island National Seashore ferry, departing from St. Marys, Georgia, about 15 miles north, accesses one of the Southeast's most extraordinary wilderness barrier islands. Nassau County's location at the Florida-Georgia line gives Horne Lake RV Resort an advantageous position on the I-95 travel corridor while delivering the mild north Florida coastal climate that makes year-round camping comfortable. Winter temperatures rarely drop below the 40s and spring arrives early in Nassau County's coastal plain, making the resort functional from January through December for travelers moving between the Northeast and the Florida peninsula. The resort's proximity to Jacksonville International Airport, 25 miles south, adds a practical dimension for guests arriving by air to join RV travel companions or who need to depart after a Florida camping trip.
