Outdoorsy includes windshield coverage in all of our protection packages. Renters purchase these packages to cover the rented vehicle during the rental period.
If windshield damage caused by a collision or comprehensive event occurs during the rental period, Outdoorsy&#8217;s windshield coverage may:

<li>Repair chips or cracks not in the field of vision at no additional cost to the renter or owner.</li>
<li>Replace the windshield, in which case the renter will pay a deductible.</li>
</ul>
Please note, the following would not be covered:
<ul>
<li>Cracks originating from neglected chips that have increased in length or severity over time or after successive trips.</li>
<li>Dry, cracked, brittle, or loose weather stripping around windshield / windows due to aging.</li>
<li>Peeling or nicks to window tint, flexing, or bracing of the windshield or windshield moldings. </li>
<li>Any damage not caused by a collision or comprehensive event.</li>

Any renters traveling in the US (international or US-based), as well as US-based owners, can rely on Assurant for liability protection. Outdoorsy’s $1 million insurance protection program covers you, your vehicle, and every approved renter in the case of any covered incidents. Rent worry-free knowing we’ve got you covered.
For owners, you’re also protected for physical damage to your RV in the event of a collision or accident during the rental period, up to the actual cash value of your vehicle, with a maximum of $300,000. 
Let’s break it down. Our Comprehensive and Collision coverage for exterior damages is available to RVs, travel trailers, fifth wheels, toy haulers, truck campers, campervans, sports mobiles, and certified Westfalias, VW campers, and vintage units. Note that this excludes tow vehicles unless they’re also listed on Outdoorsy and rented at the same time as the trailer. Tow vehicles must be approved for coverage separately from a trailer.
Older Westfalias, VW vans, and vintage units can be covered under our Vintage Plan for both Liability and Comprehensive &amp; Collision. The Vintage Plan covers only $75,000 for Comprehensive &amp; Collision.
There is no restriction on age for trailers, as long as they pass their regularly scheduled mechanical safety inspections.

Losses caused by mechanical failures, wear and tear, lack of maintenance, or damages occurring over time, are not covered.

Collision policy goes back as far as we elect on newer motorized vehicles, but a rate charge may apply.

Every vehicle must pass an inspection of its tires, brakes, LP, and gas, within 90 days of the reservation departure. Outdoorsy’s insurers reserve the right to request these inspection documents in the case of a claim.

Vehicles must be registered, meet all safety standards, and be certified through and listed with Outdoorsy.
</li>
<li>
All drivers, including the primary contract signer, must be verified through the Outdoorsy verification process.

Our coverage does not extend to rentals entering Mexico.

Damage as a result of vandalism or theft during the rental period must also include a police report for submission to our claims team.

The protection package for renters is mandatory and cannot be opted out of unless the driver has failed the verification, in which case they will need an insurance binder.

Our insurance protection plans feature tiered deductibles depending on the value of the rented vehicle. The renter is responsible for the deductible, which can range from $1,000 to $4,000 on the Physical Damage and Comprehensive &amp; Collision coverages in the event of a damage claim. The deductible is the responsibility of the renter.
This insurance is embedded in the rental process with no additional premiums or monthly fees for owners. Outdoorsy’s protection is fully integrated and requires no additional effort outside of basic vehicle information from the owner and a renter background check for each rental. Outdoorsy’s coverage extends to all states (except New York), as well as vehicles traveling into Canada. (Our insurance does not extend into Mexico).
The Outdoorsy insurance policy also covers international travelers who agree to an international background check and have an international driver’s license or permit for the class of vehicle they’re renting (i.e. if they have a Class B international license, they can’t rent a Class A vehicle).

Summary of Protection Policy

Liability: If the renter is found to be at fault in an accident, liability coverage will pay for damage to another person’s property (property damage liability) or for costs associated with another person’s injuries (bodily injury liability). Liability insurance is required in all states, but the minimum liability varies per state. 
Comprehensive &amp; Collision: Covers exterior property damage to the rented unit up to the actual cash value of your vehicle, with a maximum of $300,000 for all qualified vehicles 2000 and newer. Vehicles from 1999 and older are covered for the value of the vehicle up to $75,000. Comprehensive and collision coverage does not cover damages to another vehicle.

Who provides the insurance? Can I trust them?

Calling all Outdoorsy hosts, charging for extra miles and generator hours just got easier.



Just look for the Record mileage and generator button on the Bookings page for the trip. This appears 2 days before the trip begins.



You’ll enter your mileage and / or generator readings twice.



<ul><li>Enter your starting miles and / or generator hours before the trip begins.<ul><li>Take photos of your odometer and generator meter, as well. </li></ul></li><li>Enter your ending miles and / or generator hours when you get your vehicle back.<ul><li>Take photos again.</li></ul></li></ul>



Once you enter the ending values, we’ll calculate any overage charges for you. You’ll see a breakdown of what the guest owes, based on the mileage and generator settings for your listing. At that point, you can decide whether to charge the guest or not.



To charge the guest, select the Process overage fee button. We’ll charge the guest’s payment method on file.



If you allow unlimited mileage and generator hours for a listing, you will not see anything about this new process on your Bookings pages.



No more calculating overages yourself



This new process gives you a fast way of seeing whether your guest used more miles or generator hours than what their rental included. And, an easy way to charge for it.



You can now stop using the Collect extra fees process to charge the guest’s security deposit for mileage and generator overages.&nbsp;



The new process also gives your guests better transparency into how many extra miles and / or hours they used. And, how much they paid for any overage.

<ul><li>You have 7 days after a trip ends to collect extra mileage and generator hour fees. </li><li>Charging for extra miles and generator hours is optional. If you decide not to charge the guest after seeing the overage, perhaps because it’s really low, simply ignore the Process overage fee button.</li></ul>



<ul><li>You can set both your per-day usage limits for mileage and generator and the cost for going over. To adjust your settings, go to your listing and: <ul><li>Select Pricing from the left-hand menu if you’re using the website. </li><li>Select Mileage charges or Generator charges from the menu if you’re using the app.</li></ul></li></ul>

<h3>Add a new card for a trip you already have booked</h3>

Be sure to do this when logged in to the desktop or mobile website. This functionality is not yet available on our iPhone or Android apps — sorry about that.



From the My account dropdown in the upper right, select Upcoming trips. 



Select the trip you need to update the card for. Then, scroll down to and expand the Payment &amp; cancellation section.



Under Payment details, select Change payment method. Then, open the dropdown and select Add payment method.



Once you’ve added your card, any upcoming payments for the trip will go on your new card. The card will also be saved to your account.&nbsp;

A winner making a booking on the Outdoorsy.com platform agrees that additional criteria may be imposed by the listed vehicle’s owner. If the booking value exceeds the US$1,000.00 credit, then the winner will be solely and completely responsible for covering the booking expenses beyond the prize amount. Such booking must purchase the maximum available insurance coverage offered through the Outdoorsy.com booking platform. Outdoorsy will not be responsible for covering additional trip costs on and/or off platform, including but not limited to, mileage overage fees, gas, campground reservations, airfare or any other costs and expenses. All bookings on the Outdoorsy.com platform must fully comply with the terms and conditions and other policies therein.



<h3>Winner selection and notification</h3>



As described in “How to Enter,” three potential winners will be selected each calendar week during the Contest Period. The three potential winners’ submissions will be published and displayed (anonymously) on multiple channels, including but not limited to paid social, other organic communities, and partner channels. Users of such channels may vote on their favorite submission, and the submission with the most votes will be selected as a potential winner.&nbsp; In the event of a tie, Outdoorsy in its sole discretion may select the winner. The potential winner will be notified via email addresses provided on the submission. In order to receive the prize, the potential winner must return email communications with Outdoorsy’s team to set the delivery conditions of the prize. If the potential winner fails to give respond to the email within 14 days or is found to be, in Outdoorsy’s sole discretion, ineligible or in violation of these Official Rules, such potential winner and his/her entry will be disqualified, and an alternate winner will be selected from all remaining eligible entries.&nbsp; Outdoorsy may request paperwork that the potential winner will be required to complete in order to be awarded the prize (including, but not limited to, a publicity release, tax documentation, drivers license information, evidence of insurability, and/or liability release). The receipt of the prize offered in this Contest by the potential winner is conditional upon compliance with these Official Rules and any and all applicable federal and state laws and regulations.



<h4>General terms</h4>



Decisions made by Outdoorsy are final and binding in all matters, including interpretation of these Official Rules and awarding of the prize. Entrants assume all risk of loss, damage, destruction, delay, or misdirection of Contest materials submitted to Outdoorsy. Outdoorsy reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Contest, or any part of it, if any virus, bugs, other technical failures, non-authorized human intervention, fraud, or any other causes beyond Outdoorsy’s control impair the administration, security, integrity, or proper functioning of the Contest, as determined by Outdoorsy in its sole discretion. Outdoorsy in its sole discretion reserves the right to disqualify any entrant it finds to be tampering with or attempting to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules. <h4>Release and indemnification</h4>



By participating in the Contest, you agree to release from liability and hold harmless Outdoorsy and its parent company, affiliates, and related companies, and each of their respective officers, directors, and employees and agents (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from and against any claim or cause of action, including, but not limited to, personal injury, death, or damage to or loss of property, arising out of participation in the Contest or the receipt or use or misuse of any prize, or from any trip booked or taken using the prize. Entrants agree to indemnify the Released Parties and any other companies associated with the Contest, including any vendors or marketing agencies, and any third parties who have provided prizing. The indemnity covers all claims made not only by potential winners, but also by anyone participating in the Contest. The indemnity covers both claims arising out of the Contest itself, and claims arising from any use of the prizes.



<h4>Limitation of liability</h4>



Outdoorsy is not responsible for: (1) any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by entrant, printing errors, or any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest; (2) technical failures of any kind, including, but not limited to, malfunctions, delays, interruptions, or disconnections in phone lines or network hardware or software; (3) technical or human error which may occur in the administration of the Contest or the processing of entries; (4) late, lost, undeliverable, damaged, stolen, misdirected, or postage-due entries; or (5) any injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, by entrant’s participation in the Contest or receipt or use or misuse of any prize, or from any trip booked or taken using the prize. This includes such failures that might result in more winners than planned are issued.



<h4>Disputes</h4>



This Contest is governed by the laws of the United States and State of Texas without respect to conflict of law doctrines. As a condition of participating in this Contest, entrant agrees that any and all causes of action arising out of or connected with this Contest, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, exclusively and solely before a state or federal court located in Austin, Texas. Further, under no circumstances will entrant be permitted to obtain awards for, and entrant hereby waives all rights to claim, punitive, incidental, or consequential damages, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, and entrant further waives all rights to have damages multiplied or increased.

Information submitted with an online entry is subject to the Privacy Policy stated on Outdoorsy’s website.

Can I track where renters take my vehicle?

The amount on your 1099-K represents your tax liability as defined by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).



The IRS requires Outdoorsy to base our 1099-K reporting on the gross reportable payments that renters make to our platform.&nbsp;



<ul><li>Included in 1099-K reporting: For each rental, the amount a renter pays for the vehicle (nightly rate multiplied by the number of nights), as well as any add-ons. This is before the owner service fee has been subtracted.</li><li>Not included in 1099-K reporting: The amount renters pay directly to Outdoorsy for insurance, as a renter service fee, and as sales/transactional tax.</li></ul>



<h4>Why include the owner service fee on 1099-Ks?</h4>



Because it doesn’t come out of the customer’s payment to Outdoorsy. It comes out of our payout to you.



Again, the IRS requires us to base our 1099-K reporting on renters’ payments and not owners’ payouts.&nbsp;



This means your 1099-K will differ from your total payouts for the year in your Outdoorsy account. The difference is the owner service fee. It’s included in 1099-K reporting. It’s not included in your total payouts for the year.&nbsp;



This could change in the future. We watch tax laws closely so we can help you comply. We’ll implement any changes that impact you and your tax liability.



<h4>Reminder about service fees</h4>
