Liability: If the renter is found to be at fault in an accident, liability coverage will pay for damage to another person’s property (property damage liability) or for costs associated with another person’s injuries (bodily injury liability). Liability insurance is required in all states, but the minimum liability varies per state. 
Comprehensive &amp; Collision: Covers exterior property damage to the rented unit up to the actual cash value of your vehicle, with a maximum of $300,000 for all qualified vehicles 2000 and newer. Vehicles from 1999 and older are covered for the value of the vehicle up to $75,000. Comprehensive and collision coverage does not cover damages to another vehicle.

What happens after I file a claim?
Our claims process will generally unfold in the following way if we receive a denial letter from the renter&#8217;s primary carrier first:

<li data-renderer-start-pos="4649">Excess Coverage &#8211; Renters are responsible to file a claim with the personal (or commercial) insurance carrier. In the event your carrier denies the claim, please submit the denial letter and relevant documentation.</li>
<li data-renderer-start-pos="4649">Gathering Information — Our claims team will ask for any other pertinent information to move forward with your claim. This includes a statement from your renter, any other evidence that is required, and proof of ownership (e.g., registration, title). 
</li>
<li data-renderer-start-pos="4649">The Estimate — While our claims team is gathering information, our appraisal team at Outdoorsy will do the heavy lifting for you. They’ll contact you once your claim is filed to get photos of your rig, including the damage, and have an estimate completed. 
</li>
<li data-renderer-start-pos="4649">Confirming Coverage — We’re almost there! Your adjuster will review the statements, documents, photos, estimate, and all other necessary information to confirm it’s a covered loss. 
</li>
<li data-renderer-start-pos="4649">Payment — Hate waiting for a check? We make claim settlements a breeze with direct deposits. We’ll notify you via email once your payment is ready. Simply follow the instructions to enter your bank information, and it’ll arrive within 24-48 hours. 
</li>
<li data-renderer-start-pos="4649">Closing the Loop — Once you have payment in hand, we’ll charge the renter their deductible and handle any other outstanding issues that might be present (e.g., if a third party is involved). Feel free to take your estimate and payment to any shop of choice to get the repairs started.

<li data-renderer-start-pos="4649">Post Claim Follow-Up — If your repair shop requests <a class="css-1rn59kg" title="https://www.outdoorsy.com/help/insurance-supplement" href="https://www.outdoorsy.com/help/insurance-supplement" data-renderer-mark="true">a supplement</a>, this simply means that they need additional time and/or expense to complete the work. They can request a supplement by using the instructions on the first page of the estimate.</li>

How do I file a claim?

Outdoorsy’s protection packages cover vehicles for travel into Canada. Please confirm directly with the owner before taking the vehicle across the Canadian border. Owners will always have the final say on whether or not this is allowed.
Our protection packages do not cover rentals that travel into Mexico.

Drivers must be at least 25 years of age, have a current license, and clean driving history.

If your vehicle does not qualify for liability coverage, your guests will need to obtain an insurance binder from a third-party insurance company for securing liability insurance.

My vehicle is not covered by liability insurance. What should I do?

Yes, your personal policy will cover your vehicle for your personal use, but does not apply when your vehicle is being rented out. If anything occurs during the rental period, your insurance provider will likely decline coverage.

Who provides the insurance? Can I trust them?

Calling all Outdoorsy hosts, charging for extra miles and generator hours just got easier.



Just look for the Record mileage and generator button on the Bookings page for the trip. This appears 2 days before the trip begins.



You’ll enter your mileage and / or generator readings twice.



<ul><li>Enter your starting miles and / or generator hours before the trip begins.<ul><li>Take photos of your odometer and generator meter, as well. </li></ul></li><li>Enter your ending miles and / or generator hours when you get your vehicle back.<ul><li>Take photos again.</li></ul></li></ul>



Once you enter the ending values, we’ll calculate any overage charges for you. You’ll see a breakdown of what the guest owes, based on the mileage and generator settings for your listing. At that point, you can decide whether to charge the guest or not.



To charge the guest, select the Process overage fee button. We’ll charge the guest’s payment method on file.



If you allow unlimited mileage and generator hours for a listing, you will not see anything about this new process on your Bookings pages.



No more calculating overages yourself



This new process gives you a fast way of seeing whether your guest used more miles or generator hours than what their rental included. And, an easy way to charge for it.



You can now stop using the Collect extra fees process to charge the guest’s security deposit for mileage and generator overages.&nbsp;



The new process also gives your guests better transparency into how many extra miles and / or hours they used. And, how much they paid for any overage.



Reminders



<ul><li>You have 7 days after a trip ends to collect extra mileage and generator hour fees. </li><li>Charging for extra miles and generator hours is optional. If you decide not to charge the guest after seeing the overage, perhaps because it’s really low, simply ignore the Process overage fee button.</li></ul>

Be sure to do this when logged in to the desktop or mobile website. This functionality is not yet available on our iPhone or Android apps — sorry about that.



From the My account dropdown in the upper right, select Upcoming trips. 



Select the trip you need to update the card for. Then, scroll down to and expand the Payment &amp; cancellation section.



Under Payment details, select Change payment method. Then, open the dropdown and select Add payment method.



Once you’ve added your card, any upcoming payments for the trip will go on your new card. The card will also be saved to your account.&nbsp;

A winner making a booking on the Outdoorsy.com platform agrees that additional criteria may be imposed by the listed vehicle’s owner. If the booking value exceeds the US$1,000.00 credit, then the winner will be solely and completely responsible for covering the booking expenses beyond the prize amount. Such booking must purchase the maximum available insurance coverage offered through the Outdoorsy.com booking platform. Outdoorsy will not be responsible for covering additional trip costs on and/or off platform, including but not limited to, mileage overage fees, gas, campground reservations, airfare or any other costs and expenses. All bookings on the Outdoorsy.com platform must fully comply with the terms and conditions and other policies therein.



<h3>Winner selection and notification</h3>



As described in “How to Enter,” three potential winners will be selected each calendar week during the Contest Period. The three potential winners’ submissions will be published and displayed (anonymously) on multiple channels, including but not limited to paid social, other organic communities, and partner channels. Users of such channels may vote on their favorite submission, and the submission with the most votes will be selected as a potential winner.&nbsp; In the event of a tie, Outdoorsy in its sole discretion may select the winner. The potential winner will be notified via email addresses provided on the submission. In order to receive the prize, the potential winner must return email communications with Outdoorsy’s team to set the delivery conditions of the prize. If the potential winner fails to give respond to the email within 14 days or is found to be, in Outdoorsy’s sole discretion, ineligible or in violation of these Official Rules, such potential winner and his/her entry will be disqualified, and an alternate winner will be selected from all remaining eligible entries.&nbsp; Outdoorsy may request paperwork that the potential winner will be required to complete in order to be awarded the prize (including, but not limited to, a publicity release, tax documentation, drivers license information, evidence of insurability, and/or liability release). The failure to do so will render the potential winner ineligible. The receipt of the prize offered in this Contest by the potential winner is conditional upon compliance with these Official Rules and any and all applicable federal and state laws and regulations.



<h4>General terms</h4>



Decisions made by Outdoorsy are final and binding in all matters, including interpretation of these Official Rules and awarding of the prize. Entrants assume all risk of loss, damage, destruction, delay, or misdirection of Contest materials submitted to Outdoorsy. Outdoorsy reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Contest, or any part of it, if any virus, bugs, other technical failures, non-authorized human intervention, fraud, or any other causes beyond Outdoorsy’s control impair the administration, security, integrity, or proper functioning of the Contest, as determined by Outdoorsy in its sole discretion. Outdoorsy in its sole discretion reserves the right to disqualify any entrant it finds to be tampering with or attempting to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules. Any attempt by an entrant to deliberately damage or undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest may be a violation of criminal and civil laws, and, should such an attempt be made, Outdoorsy reserves the right to seek damages from such persons to the fullest extent permitted by law. Outdoorsy’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that term.



<h4>Release and indemnification</h4>



By participating in the Contest, you agree to release from liability and hold harmless Outdoorsy and its parent company, affiliates, and related companies, and each of their respective officers, directors, and employees and agents (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from and against any claim or cause of action, including, but not limited to, personal injury, death, or damage to or loss of property, arising out of participation in the Contest or the receipt or use or misuse of any prize, or from any trip booked or taken using the prize. Entrants agree to indemnify the Released Parties and any other companies associated with the Contest, including any vendors or marketing agencies, and any third parties who have provided prizing. The indemnity covers all claims made not only by potential winners, but also by anyone participating in the Contest. The indemnity covers both claims arising out of the Contest itself, and claims arising from any use of the prizes.



<h4>Limitation of liability</h4>



Outdoorsy is not responsible for: (1) any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by entrant, printing errors, or any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest; (2) technical failures of any kind, including, but not limited to, malfunctions, delays, interruptions, or disconnections in phone lines or network hardware or software; (3) technical or human error which may occur in the administration of the Contest or the processing of entries; (4) late, lost, undeliverable, damaged, stolen, misdirected, or postage-due entries; or (5) any injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, by entrant’s participation in the Contest or receipt or use or misuse of any prize, or from any trip booked or taken using the prize. This includes such failures that might result in more winners than planned are issued.



<h4>Disputes</h4>



This Contest is governed by the laws of the United States and State of Texas without respect to conflict of law doctrines. As a condition of participating in this Contest, entrant agrees that any and all causes of action arising out of or connected with this Contest, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, exclusively and solely before a state or federal court located in Austin, Texas. Further, under no circumstances will entrant be permitted to obtain awards for, and entrant hereby waives all rights to claim, punitive, incidental, or consequential damages, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, and entrant further waives all rights to have damages multiplied or increased.



<h4>Privacy policy</h4>



Information submitted with an online entry is subject to the Privacy Policy stated on Outdoorsy’s website.

To obtain a copy of the winner’s name or a copy of these Official Rules, mail your request along with a stamped, self-addressed envelope to Outdoorsy. Residents of Vermont may omit return postage. Requests must be received during the Contest Period.
