Outdoorsy offers an industry-first “person to person rental” $2M insurance policy that covers recreational vehicles and tow vehicles for all qualified domestic and international travelers. We’ve partnered with Canada’s Recreational Vehicle insurance leader (Aviva) to provide commercial RV Rental insurance which covers your personal vehicle while being rented. Anyone wanting to rent on Outdoorsy are advised to contact their insurance broker/advisor as it is a requirement of most policies to report any changes to the use of your vehicle.
Currently our Insurance only covers vehicles registered in Ontario, Alberta & Quebec and stationary non-registered vehicles located in these provinces.
Our insurance program provides $2M in liability coverage for the duration of the RV/motorhome rental period for all verified renters in a certified vehicle. The coverage takes effect when rentals are processed on ca.outdoorsy.com. Our insurance coverage does not include rentals that occur outside of the Outdoorsy platform (i.e. on another platform or by cash) or while the vehicle is being used for personal use by the owner.
Our insurance program provides unlimited coverage on Comprehensive & Collision with a deductible of $1,500 CAD per rental period. Outdoorsy is responsible for collecting that $1,500 CAD from the renter in case of incident.
This is a fully comprehensive, first-of-its-kind, person-to-person insurance program. The policy provides $2 million dollars in liability coverage for all certified vehicles, renters and owners on a per rental, per vehicle basis. There are no monthly or annual premiums with Outdoorsy insurance coverage.
