We’re proud to partner with Liberty Mutual to insure the safety of our renters and owners worldwide. Any renters traveling in the US (international or US-based) as well as US-based owners can rely on Liberty Mutual for protection. With offices around the world, Liberty supports our mission of providing high-quality insurance products and services to meet the needs of the Outdoorsy community.
Outdoorsy’s $1 million insurance protection program covers you, your vehicle and every approved renter in the case of any incidents. Rent worry-free knowing we’ve got you covered.
You’re also protected for any physical damage to your RV in the event of a collision or accident during the rental period, up to the actual cash value of your vehicle, with a maximum of $500,000.
Our insurance protection plans feature tiered deductibles depending on the value of the rented vehicle. The renter is responsible for the deductible, which can range from $1,500 to $3,000 on the Physical Damage and Comprehensive & Collision coverages in the event of a damage claim. The deductible is the responsibility of the renter.

For example, if a vehicle is worth $70,000 and is damaged in an accident, Outdoorsy insurance will pay $70,000. If a vehicle is customized with special additions that result in its total value exceeding $75,000, Outdoorsy insurance will only cover up to $75,000.
All vehicles must be certified through Outdoorsy. Owners should complete the form located under the Insurance tab while editing their listing, or apply during the Publishing Your Listing Process.
Does the insurance cover renters who are traveling to Canada or Mexico?
Outdoorsy’s insurance covers vehicles for travel into Canada under our Liberty Mutual program; for vehicles originating in Canada, insurance is provided through Aviva. Please confirm directly with the owner before taking the vehicle across the Canadian border. Owners will always have the final say on whether or not this is allowed.
Our insurance does not insure rentals that travel into Mexico.
