Located deep in the heart of the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest, in Oregon, Almeda Park Campground offers stunning scenery and seclusion. There are just under 40 RV campsites here, and all tucked away under the canopy of trees on the banks of the Rogue River.
This is a primitive woodland RV camping area, with no hookups of any kind, but there are plenty of drinking water faucets. There is a restroom with vault toilets, but no showers, so you will need to make sure your rental RV water tanks are full before setting up on-site. But the lack of facilities can be overlooked for the sheer peace and beauty of the location. There are pull-thru sites available, and the campground can cater for RV campers up to 80-feet long, perfect if you are driving a large rental RV for the first time. This is a pet-friendly campground, so no need to leave your dog at home.
Almeda Park Campground does have a boat ramp straight into the river, so perfect for some fun on the water, but you'll need to bring your own equipment. You'll also find picnic tables and fire pits for outdoor cooking and socializing.
Although deep in the forest, the campground is just a few miles from Highway 5, making access not too tricky. The nearest town is Grants Pass, just off the highway, and from here you can reach the larger town of Medford to the south or the city of Eugene to the north.
