Salinas / Monterey KOA

There are few destinations with as much to offer as the Monterey Coast area of Southern California, and if this is where your heart is taking you, then Salinas/Monterey KOA is where you will want to stay. While you are here, you can enjoy the heated swimming pool that is open year round, pick up small necessities at the camp convenience store and relax with cable TV in the evenings if you wish to catch up on your shows. Wi-Fi is available so you can stay connected, and there is an on-site playground to keep the kids happy. If you are looking to make new acquaintances, this friendly campground has a recreation room with billiards and ping-pong tables where you can scare up a game.

The RV campground has an area where you can walk your dog and restrooms with showers so you can freshen up upon your return. There are laundry facilities available if you require them and a tetherball court and horseshoe pitch for your enjoyment. Some of the individual sites have pull-through access (the remainder are back-in only), but all of them have full hookups and can accommodate larger RV rentals. Some of the sites have 50 amp electricity, and the rest have 30 amp; if you need a 50 amp site, be sure to mention it when you make your booking.

Now that you're set up and ready to begin, there is a lot to see and take in on the Monterey coast. This area was made famous in the novels of John Steinbeck, who was an expert on the local history, environment, and culture. You can begin by heading to Salinas in your rental motorhome and checking out the Monterey Zoo which has a variety of animal species from all over the world on display. It also has a guided safari where you can view these exotic creatures in their natural habitats. A handful of nearby golf courses will allow you to get a quick round in and the city's proximity to the coastline will put a number of beaches within your reach, should you want to picnic or swim in the ocean.
