If you’ve ever wanted to go RV camping among the limestone and rocks, then Lewis and Clark Caverns Campground in Lewis and Clark Caverns State Park may be just the ticket. One thing for sure, you'll want to book your site for more than one night here for your campervan rental. The park is not just the first Montana state park, but also one of its most popular. There are incredible limestone caverns to tour, plenty of hiking trails, and more. As far as RV campgrounds go, this one is pretty basic, and there are both electrical hookup and primitive sites available.
The RV camping sites all have a gravel pad, fire rings, and plenty of grass around them. There are hot showers available and picnic tables at each site. However, there is no TV or WiFi, so this makes the perfect place to go camping in an RV for those who want to get away from it all for a little while. The campground is open year-round; however, if you want to see the caves, it's best to visit between May and September.
Lewis and Clark Caverns Campground is close to I-90, which is the main east-west highway running across the northern region of the U.S. The interstate connects with I-15 that takes you into Helena, the state capital, in just over an hour's drive. Or you can take I-90 east and visit Bozeman, the home of Montana State University, in just under an hour's drive.
