I rented Jura's van for a solo, 9 night trip down (and then up) the beautiful coastline of Oregon. Overall, LOVED every second of the experience! I have a lot to say about this van, so if you’re interested in learning more, keep scrolling. The layout and design of the van interior is perfect. Most camper vans have sideways and/or shortened mattresses, but Jura's van has a legitimate, full-size mattress! For a 6-foot-4 individual like me, it was fantastic. Slept comfortably every night. Also a plus, the van is tall. I could comfortably stand straight-up inside without slouching. The kitchen area has a sink, hot water pump (hot enough to make French press coffee), a two-top gas range, plus plenty of pots, pans, cups, mugs, coffee bean grinder, French Press, utensils and plates. The refrigerator is always on and big enough to store a few days worth of food. There’s a comfortable seating area with two cushioned seats, plus a table in-between that lifts and locks in place. I spent a lot of quality time at that table eating and working on my laptop. The wall storage unit to the side of the bed is spacious, and provides adequate room for clothes, gear, or whatever you’re bringing. If you need more storage, the “garage” under the bed platform (accessible through the rear doors of the van) has plenty of room for suitcases, bags, or even a bike.On the roof, two large solar panels. The panels continuously charge a lithium battery separate from the engine. This battery powers the fridge, fan, overhead lights, pumps, and electrical / USB outlets throughout the vehicle. I pushed it by charging loads of camera batteries (I’m a photographer), parking in shady campgrounds, running lights, fans, etc, and the lithium battery never fell below 90%! Constant, clean, renewable energy always available. Incredible!Thoughtful touches throughout: magnetized salt and pepper shakers that don’t tip over when driving. A small mirror. A reading light. A USB outlet by the head of the bed for plugging in your phone at night. A bluetooth speaker. Etc, etc.The van drives like a car. It fits in a standard parking space, though it is longer than the average car so you have to be careful when backing up. The rear view mirror displays a digital camera image so you can see what’s behind you (for there are no windows in the back). I parked the van in multiple state park campgrounds and never had an issue. There’s a cassette toilet, but I never used it. I stopped at Rest Areas / Campgrounds instead. A handheld, outdoor shower pump is also available (plus a clever privacy curtain that strings between the back doors), but I didn’t use that either. I utilized campground showers instead. As for climate control, there is A/C powered by the car engine. There is not a separate A/C unit to run while the van is parked. Did I miss it? Not at all. Even in late July, Oregon nights are cool, so I opened the windows, turned on the roof fan, and it was perfectly comfortable. The one thing I’d recommend bringing with you (if you rent this van) is a phone mount for the dash. I brought a mount that attaches to any air vent, and it was perfect. There isn’t a convenient place to hold the phone while driving, otherwise.Overall, what can I say? I loved this Ford Transit 350 so much I now want to build my own! Jura was a fantastic host, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
