About Backroad Adventures

Hey everyone! I’m Bryce, founder of Backroad Adventures where we help you write stories to tell for a lifetime. I’ve been passionate about the outdoors, and specifically RVs since I can remember. From camping in a small, 1980s pop-up at the water’s edge in Lake Tahoe to building my own custom camper vans, I’ve had my fair share of RV adventures and now I want to help you have your own. If you’ve got any questions about mountain biking, rock climbing, whitewater, or just about any other sport that you might find in the Southwest, I’d be stoked to give you beta for it. If you’re looking for a more remote, laid back experience I can help with that too. At Backroads we prioritize clear and friendly communication and we aren’t afraid to share our best (or worst) kept secrets if it means you having a great trip. My wife and I had a memorable experience touring Southern New Mexico. As avid tent campers, the van was a luxury. We enjoyed rolling into camp and having all the necessary equipment without setting up camp. Our trip covered 5 days and 4 nights. We visited unique places including Gila National Park, City of Rocks, White Sands, and the Organ Mountains. We mostly stayed in established campgrounds. Our favorites were City of Rocks and Aguirre Springs. The van had some wear and tear, and Bryce communicated these issues. He also topped off the gas and water tank for us. None of these issues hindered our trip and the van was very comfortable and reliable. We recommend booking with Bryce for your next van adventure.

Bryce is a gem, very communicative and accommodating. The van is an absolute dream!!! Everything you need to be comfortable while also being maneuverable and easy to drive and take anywhere. I can't go back to traveling any other way! If you are reading this review, book this van!!!! You will not regret it.

Absolutely loved my experience with Bryce’s van! I decided to come to New Mexico for a week on a “soloette” before my wedding to explore and take some time for self reflection. The van made it so I could explore around the state and get around to 3 different National Parks comfortably without needing additional lodging. The van had everything I needed - a comfy bed, propane heater (worked very well in the cold weather), water/sink to wash dishes, lighting, and a propane stove to cook with. The outdoor shower is not installed during colder months, but I booked a few hot spring spas throughout the week to shower (there are quite a few in NM!) Bryce was also amazing to work with and communicate with. Absolutely recommend!

Epic road trip! The van was perfect for our travels. Excellent ride and warm, comfy sleeping. Easy to get around in. Bryce was great to work with and very responsive. Highly recommend!!

Bryce’s Van is reasonably priced, and an absolute tank of a machine. It is well designed, and he is extremely helpful throughout the process I would recommend this to anyone seeking this kind of trip in the southwest.
