How this RV got a 5 star rating is hard to believe. It is listed as a 2019 Coachmen Freelander I strongly doubt that this RV is a 2019 because it is trashed. There is not surface that is not scratched, dinked, or chipped. There was no steps to get in and out of RV.
The propane tank was ¾ full when we were picking up the RV. We asked how are we to return it ¾ full because you can’t get a tank filled to ¾. They said to fill it all the way that it just reads ¾ even when it is full. We opted to just not use any hot water and showered at my sister. The propane was turned off the whole time.
The wall in the bedroom is so water damaged it has an “S” shaped bowed in it and is coming apart. There was a wide strip of calk along the edge to the outside that looked really tacky.
The bathroom door was broken and you couldn’t close it. The bottom runner was missing so the door just hung open when door was closed. This is very unpleasant as the door is next to the bed.
When we got to the place to pick up the RV the owner tried to add on extra charges. He said it would be $75.00 if we didn’t was off all of the bugs on the front of the RV before we returned it. This was not in the contract so they waved the cost but be prepared to pay. It would make it very difficult to everything they wanted done before 10:00 am: Fill up tank, Fill up propane tank, empty gray-water and black-water and rinse then both very well, and make sure inside of RV is spotless and wash the outside of RV.
The owner spent a good part of the time pointing out all the damage his children had done. The light over the table was cracked and he said, “The next person who completely break it and they will pay.”
The VIN number when check said it is a 1987 but the door stickers say it is a 2017. We checked with Carfax and it came up 2017.
Nothing is included to help level the RV when you get to your location.
There are no adapters for the electrical hook-up and it had one of the least common adapters. The owner spent a lot of time talking about how you get 4 hours a day after that you have to pay.
Not very clean it was hard to tell when picking it up the floors were filthy. When we walked room in the first day our feet were black. There was a Chicken nugget and a lot of dirt under the couch bed.
Black water tank was not emptied all the way when picked up the RV; we had to empty it about 6 hours after picking it up. We had not showered and only use the toilet a few times.

My family and I rented this RV from Derek and his wife for our vacation to Yellowstone this May....we couldn't have been happier! We met with Derek at his home to pick up the RV and it was easy to see how much he cared for the unit. The RV was clean, beautifully decorated and full of supplies that one would expect to have to provide for themselves. After a conducting walk around and signing a rental agreement we were on our way. The RV handled well and the backup camera was an asset. The RV's engine is strong and the brakes worked well, even through the tight turns and switchbacks that are in Yellowstone. Unfortunately, we blew a tire on our return and had to utilize the roadside assistance that is provided through Outdoorsy, but thanks to Derek placing our rental agreement in the glovebox we had all of the information that we needed. We contacted Outdoorsy and they had assistance en route within the hour...and it was Memorial Day! When we returned the RV Derek couldn't stop thanking us for taking care of it. We couldn't stop thanking Derek for allowing our family to create some awesome, once in a lifetime memories!! We will definitely rent from Derek again! Great experience!
