Brian was great. Met us in parking lot to let us get a chance to drive SweetPea a few blocks. We are not campers, and were taking the van to a music festival, so we had access to showers and port-o-potties, food and drink. The inside is built out with storage for most items. There is a cooler for ice, propane stove, "shower bag", coffee pot, pan, disposable utensils, folding chairs, mat. A new awning which attaches to rim of long side of van was great for shade. There is room for 2 adults - 1 up, one down. Thin foam mats (a bit hard on older hips and back) nice pillows and comfortors. You have to crawl up to upper sleep area. Not for older folks.
Driving: I drive a manual 6 speed sports car, and SweetPea was a challenge. Transmission needs a bit of work. Most folks are in a hurry, and SweetPea is not, so tolerating some honking from behind is important. Turns like an ocean liner, no power steering, so don't even think about parallel parking.
She is a conversation piece. Everyone wanted to stop and take a peek. Many had driven one as a 20-something in the 70s. Served its purpose for a few nights with great weather.

The hype is true. Brian goes above and beyond to ensure an enjoyable ride. He didn't mind my questions and gave all the necessary details I needed, so no surprises. Sweet Pea came fully equipped with clean, cozy bedding and camping necessities. I'm so glad I spent 4 days in this vanagan exploring Cape Cod and Narragansett, and I hope to do so again.

What an incredible experience I had with my daughter. Brian was so easy to deal with and gave us a walkthrough of all of this old van's features and quirks before setting out to Cape Cod for the long weekend. Don't rent this expecting it to be a polished driving experience -- it definitely was better on the side-roads than when we took it on the highway for a bit.

We had a great time with the 1972 Volkswagen! Everything was well prepared so we could start right away.

We had an awesome time! My wife and I picked up in RI and drove through MA. We already have our own VW at home to restore, but wanted to try adventuring in this beautiful bus. Brian was really helpful with check-in and making sure we understood his driving system. Even when we bumped a light pole he was very understanding and helped make it a great trip! The bus amenities were exactly what we needed- plenty of room for our stuff, good camping chairs, lots of lanterns, and a few fire starters. We loved it!

Sweet Pea was a blast! We rented Sweet Pea and took her up to the Cape for several days! She is packed with everything that you could possibly need to go camping. If you forget something, it’s almost guaranteed that Brian has stocked it in sweet pea. She is a very reliable and smooth running bus. You’re not getting anywhere fast, that’s to be expected. I cannot say enough about how accommodating Brian was and went out of his way to make sure our trip was smooth and successful. Brian helped us with accommodations for our vehicle and drove completely out of his way to assist us with a small mechanical problem. Brian has gone above and beyond and has exceeded our expectations. He made our trip as smooth as melted butter. :)

Brian McEnany canceled the booking 4 days before departure. This is an automated posting.

Brian was a great host. Vehicle was clean and stocked with linen necessities including biodegradable cups and plates.
But, when a last minute change in plans occurred due to Covid, he was completely understanding. (No the renters did NOT test positive)
Sweet Pea was fun to drive for the limited time we had her. We hope to reschedule our trip and bring Sweet Pea along.

I had a blast with Sweet Pea traveling around MA, visiting friends and camping at the beach. Sweet Pea is great fun to drive and a nice smooth ride. It helps to have some muscle to turn the (non-power) steering wheel but you get so many thumbs ups and shout outs from passers-by on the road, you hardly notice. I had a huge smile the whole week.
It's amazing that a vehicle almost 50 years old could be in such great shape, inside and out.

We loved Sweet Pea! Didn’t want to give her back 😂 Brian was an awesome host and the bus is fully stocked for camping. No need to bring anything really! We did have a mosquito net though that we wrapped around the back hatch and side windows to keep bugs out when sleeping. Took it for a few days ourselves and then home to CT for a staycation with the kids! Lap belts are safe with car seats (but not booster seats), so we put our almost 6 year old in her old car seat (she’s still within the weight limits of it) and she was thrilled!! The other lap belt was too short to put through our other car seat, but our toddler was too young for most of our excursions anyhow. We also went to a drive in movie, which was such fun! When the heat wave abated, our daughter slept in it with me and loved it. She’s going to contribute her piggy bank money to buying a bus! 😂 Bottom line, rent this bus to for a great getaway or staycation, with or without your kids!! 🥰

Excellent Cape adventures on Sweet Pea! While we got a ton of smiles and waves while cruising up the seashore, I would caution potential renters that you should understand the van is a bit of commitment. The lack of power steering, it's height, and it being a 4-speed means you're getting a bit of a workout if you plan to do a lot of driving. There's nothing wrong with that and it's ton of fun when you get the hang of it, but patience is a virtue here.
