First of all, let me start out by saying that 48 hrs prior to my rental, the previous renter dropped a one star bomb on this RV/owner. Needless to say, it made me nervous about my impending trip and I walked into my first RV rental/experience completely paranoid. In quick summary, we rented this RV for 2 full weeks, drove 2k+ miles, stopped at 8 campgrounds (from mountains to beach), and had a great experience renting from Alex. We highly recommend this RV! Now more detail:Vehicle amenities: Copious of room for a family of 4 (like mine), still plenty of room for a larger family. Booming surround sound on the primary tv (this was an unusually cool bonus that we utilized many nights). Cruise control very responsive and became my best friend. Blue tooth radio with great sound and remote. Comfortable beds (especially the master). Plenty of hot water. We used the fridge, freezer, microwave, oven, and stove with no issues. Plenty of inside/outside cabinetry and storage space.Vehicle notes: there is a process for everything (campground set up/down, black/grey water drop, canopy extend, etc), you just need to learn them. It’s not rocket science, just need to understand it all. Took me 3 days and I’d put myself in pit crew competition with the best RV owners in terms of setup/down. By end of trip I was able to get everything done in 5-10 minutes (don’t rush the grey water drop 😀). The A/C from front while driving blows COLD so we didn’t need to turn on the generator to engage the other A/C. We did have a campground power outage at one spot that required generator start and we did so with no issues. When plugged into campground the primary A/C was adequate and we often woke up comfortably cold because it works so well. The infamous broken steps from last review are indeed in need of a repair, but are useable and I was able to get them to stay up when needed.Owner notes: Alex was very thorough with his walkthrough descriptions. He even let me video him so I could go back and review if needed. I only had to text him once during trip as I was temporarily stumped by radio Bluetooth connect. Alex was responsive to my question but I ultimately figured it out (as I should have without him). Alex reached out several times during our trip to make sure all was well. He was very friendly and we’d easily re-engage with him for another rental.

Alex has two previous good reviews, but unfortunately my experience with him was horrible. This was my first time renting an RV and of course I knew nothing about the mechanics or what to inspect in an RV. He briefly demonstrated the mechanics of the RV and walked away to his house. I drove away with the best expectations since it was my family's first time riding an RV for vacation. We had some happy moments and some unhappy experiences with the RV. I have many stories to tell, but I will focus on the stories about my experience with the mechanics of the RV.One day, my family and I suffered a horrible Summer night without A/C because the A/C wouldn't turn on even though I tried look at all the possibilities on how to make it work, please have in mind we were connected to the RV Park electricity outlet. We had to sleep with all the windows and door open and my 2 year daughter cried the whole night (I have a 5 yr and 2 yr). It felt like a steam room. I tried to communicate with Alex multiple times that night around 10:30 PM and he would not answer or reply to my messages, he called me until 8:30 AM of the FOLLOWING morning, and gave me instructions how to fix it with an attitude, and when I fixed it, he said " Ok, good" and hanged up the phone.The door step never worked well and kept dropping, there was a day that we almost hit a person while driving in St. Augustine and one person ran to catch us to alert us that we were going to hurt someone, so I stopped, apologize and spend some time trying to put the door step back. During the inspection he told us that the door step wasn't working well, but we only had to push it up and hold it while closing, so I thought it was OK (my first time renting and RV).The generator...there were a couple of times that the generator didn't turn on or it would turn off by itself, so of course no A/C while stopping for grocery shopping or rest area stop (the RV has two AC systems, the big A/C unit in the roof that uses the energy from the generator or the electricty outlet (hook) in the RV Campground spot; and the A/C from the truck like any regular car that blows air from the front. The truck A/C system by itself it's not enough to cool the people sitting around the dinning table, especially in middle of the day in July. So, many times the generator didn't work, and as a result NO A/C in the living area for passengers if we were not connected to the RV park electricity outlet (hook).Sewer water gauge system, the RV has two sewer water tank gauges (measurement system); one for human waste (black water) and one for kitchen and bathroom sink (grey water). Both tank gauge systems never worked well, and Alex told me during the inspection that they were faulty, but that it was fine since he knew about it. (I took his word...ROOKIE MISTAKE). Alex charges $100 for disposing all sewer waters if the RV is not returned empty, right before driving to return the RV; I made sure I emptied both sewer water tanks in a bucket (disgusting). When I returned the RV, he said he was going to charge me $100 for emptying the sewer water tanks even thought he knew he told me the tank gauges were not working well.Last, when I returned the RV Alex found a small scratch (3 inch) in the roof that we never inspected and/or he never asked me to inspect when I picked up the RV (ROOKIE MISTAKE) Remember: it's a high roof. He even said at one point while walking around the RV that I should never go up the roof. I just tried to pay attention to the RV mechanics. I don't recall hitting something with the roof to cause a scratch. Now he wants to charge $600 for the damage.After the brief demonstration of the RV, he made me sit in the dinning table of the RV to sign the contract, the contract said "No Damages", I though that the faulty sewer water gauge, the door step issue, the quirky generator, and the multiple step process to make sure the A/C would turn on were not a biggie, and since I was happy and excited to take my family for a vacation after many months of COVID 19 confinement, I quickly signed everything and left with the RV without thinking about the RED FLAGS.Fortunately, my family and I overcame the mechanical issues and still tried to have fun. My wife and mother always excused all the issues as "Part of the RV Trip Experience" to make me feel good about my planned vacation. I wasn't even planning to complain to Alex about all the issues, just to drop off the RV and not post any comment, but Alex's attitude and angered comments with profanity when I question why he would charge me $100 for emptying the sewer tank even thought he knew the sewer water tank gauges were faulty, made me angry and write this review and potentially file a formal legal complaint with the FTC.

Unfortunately Mr. Padilla is the reason why a lot of RV owners on Outdoorsy and other sites DO NOT rent to first-time RV users. He does not know how to follow basic instructions and does not have an understanding of general household functionalities. I spent 1.5 hours with him going over the RV and his mother actually recorded the entire thing. Not sure why he didn't go back to review the videos to find his errors. I have other reviews in a different site (Outdoorsy's main competitor) and not a single bad review. All his bad experiences came from user error and not once did I give him attitude. All the fees he was charged he agreed to upon accordingly to our rental agreement, they are all listed for everyone to see on my site. It's a shame that he admitted to his mistakes and hitting low lying trees over the phone and in person to me but once he found out he had to pay for the damages his attitude and demeanor completely changed. This is a PERSONAL RV and $600 of damages plus an additional 1.5 hours of my time to go dump your feces will be charged every single time. I think the fact that he had to pay an additional $700 of fees and damages is what triggered his false review. Such a shame! Individuals liked him should simply stick with hotels, RVing is for the Outdoorsy and DIY individuals.

We absolutely LOVED the experience. Alex was incredibly helpful, fast to reply and friendly. He took the time to explain all the details for us for this was our first RV experience. The RV is in great condition, everything works great, the gas mileage is decent.
This was an incredible experience for us, we will definitely be renting again. Thanks for everything, Alex!

This was our first RV trip and Alex was a great partner for that. He took his time to explain everything and got the RV to us well prepared with everything loaded. I will definitely recommend him and would love to work with him for future trips.
