Our classic campers are the original, iconic, VW Type 2 campers along with a wonderful retro T25/T3 campervan from the '80s. We are conveniently located near King's Lynn for the ideal start to your epic adventure, on the doorstep of the stunning North Norfolk Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty offering beaches and marshes, quiet countryside and quaint villages. With big skies and slow country lanes, it's the ideal place to get to grips with driving these classic campers and there is no shortage of amazing little campsites. With the freedome of the open road, you might also want to explore the unique areas of The Brecks or The Broads, head off to the Suffolk Coast or Ely and The Fens, Rutland Water or the Lincolnshire Wolds. Our beautiful retro VW campers come fully equipped with everything you need as well as insurance and breakdown cover included in the hire price. Our main ethos is freedom, so we offer unlimited mileage within a 60 mile radius (as the crow flies) of Kings Lynn.

Brilliant all round. Victoria is very helpful and explained everything about the van. Mr Blue Sky is a bit “Old Skool” to drive and needs more effort to get the best out of him. But to be honest, it was smiles all round and plenty of admiring glances as you drive around.

We had a fabulous weekend in beautiful Buttercup! The whole process was really well organised and the fleet of vans are beautifully cared for. The videos about how to drive a VW were really useful; Retro Campers supplied a range of camping equipment (from crockery to a fire pit) so we didn’t have to think about any of that; and Vicky really kindly arranged to check us in at a slightly different time due to our availability. A great experience and we can’t wait to come back. Thank you.

Thankyou!! I took my toddler for an adventure in Mr Blue Sky this week and what a fantastic experience! The booking process was managed brilliantly , the handover was fab as was the return to Vicky. Mr Blue Sky was just wonderful , everything we needed for some summer adventures along the coast. It took a while to get used to a totally different type of driving , but once I did, he was a delight to drive in. We will be back for sure ! Thankyou Vicky for helping us deposit some lovely memories in our summer memory bank ! xx

Truly spectacular week had in ‘Mr Blue Sky’.
‘He’ was nothing short of joyous.
Hired to celebrate my 20yr anniversary with my wife and accompanied by our Greyhound Lucy.It was my first time driving a 1975 Classic (previous experience in 1980’s - 2000’s Caravelle & Transporter models) and I can confirm that it’s everything you’d imagine and more.
46 yrs young he maybe but don’t mistake his youth for weakness. He drives perfectly and so uniquely, indeed I’d say offering the best driving position I've ever experienced.
I now understand why my dad toured European ski fields with his mates back in the 70’s with the very same machine. Imagine driving from Lancashire with a van full of rowdy men and all their ski gear and you can visualise what the VW camper was born to do?

We had a wonderful trip. Mr Blue Sky was all that was promised and more - once we had learnt his idiosyncrasies . We learnt lots of things - don't plan to travel too far in a short time, small campsites in fields are nicer than smart large ones (for us!). We learnt to dance round each other as we sorted the van out. We loved it all, despite a cold damp week! Thank you - we will be back.

Super thoughtful team prepared an immaculate campervan for our halfterm break. Everything well considered with bin bags and washing up liquid even. Super cosy despite the Oct storm. Will definitely hire their vans again.
