About this RV

HD Video Tour on my Google drive:

My Road Trek van fits in a standard parking spot making it very versatile as you can take it anywhere! This is a very easy to drive RV, great for first time RVers. It drives like a large minivan and even has an in dash backup camera which makes reversing a breeze. I've driven other RV's which give you the "white knuckle experience", however these Chevy vans are extremely stable even at highway speeds. This RV only has 42k miles on it as of MAY 2020. When I drive it down the Pacific Coast Highway or through Yosemite I'm able to pull over, stop and park it just about anywhere, places where other RV's just won't fit. Even though it's small it has everything a larger motorhome has, just in a compact space. There is a Marine flush Toilet, Kitchen sink, Alley shower (as well as an outdoor shower) Two Burner propane Stove top with venting hood, Microwave, Three way Fridge and Freezer (great for boon docking, runs off propane for well over a week, electric or 12v ), Propane 12v Furnace/heater, Air Conditioner/heat pump, Generator, Fantastic Fan (venting roof fan), TV with DVD player, Pioneer head unit with, bluetooth, Apple and Android car play and back up camera. Van is stocked with Large cook pot, frying pan, cooking knives, measuring cup, measuring scoops, dish drying rack, bottle opener, can opener, several ladles and serving spoons, spatula, tongs, hand soap, dish soap, sponge. The RV is just 4 minutes from Oakland Airport and I do offer optional pick up/drop off. If your flying into San Francisco airport you can even take BART (subway) all the way to Oakland Airport if you want to save some money. The RV will sleep 3, the rear sleeps two on a King bed and the front passenger side seats swivel into a single bed. The front bed is made by reclining the rear seats and rotating the front seats 90 degrees. It is great for kids! an adult can use them but I wouldn't recommend them for anyone taller than 6ft.

****How big is the fridge? 3 cubic feet with a small freezer box at the top

****What size is the rear bed? 76 long inches by 73 inches wide (one side of the bed is 76 inches long and the other is 72 inches long) If configured as two twins one is 76 inches long by 27 inches wide and the other 72 inches by 27 inches

****How tall is the RV on the outside? 8ft 4 inches

****Can I stand inside? I'm 6'1 and I can just about stand, per the brochure its 73 inches

****Is the mattress firm or plush? The rear mattress is 5 inch thick dual density foam. Don't expect the the same comfort as a home pillow top but it sure beats a tent :)

****Can I heat the van at night without running the generator? Yes! It has a propane heater that only requires a 12v fan to run. You can set the thermostat and it will run on and off through the night to keep the RV at the desired temperature. In the morning you can recharge the batteries by driving the RV or running the generator for 10-15 minutes.

****Can I charge my phone at night? Yes, by 12v, The front cigarette lighters remain on when the RV engine is off. I provide a charger with 2 USB outlets for you to plug into (just bring you USB charger cable)

****Do you have more photos? I have a video tour of the inside of the RV on my google cloud. See the first line of the listing

****Do you allow pets? yes, there is a pet fee listed under options. Please run this by me before booking though.

****How many MPG (miles per gallon) does the RV get? It varies by how you drive but as high as 17mpg and as low as 13mpg. If you drive 80 mph expect 13 mpg or possibly less. If you drive 65 mph you should get closer to 17 mpg. Expect to average about 15 mpg. If your climbing the Sierras also don't expect 17mpg.

****How long does the propane last? If your in using it to heat the RV and to run the fridge it should last 7 days no problem. If your in sub freezing temperatures and running the furnace a lot it will probably not last a week.

****Can you rent for less than 4 days? Yes but I will not provide bedding due to the time required in washing and drying sheets, comforter and sleeping bags. Approval of less than 4 days is case by case. If you booking last minute and the calendar is open its more likely I will approve than if you want to book 3 nights in the middle of summer (peak season)

****What are the pick up and drop off times? I work full time but I store the RV less than a mile from my work. I am pretty flexible about pick up and drop off provided you let me know well in advance if I'm working. Allow at least 20 minutes to go over the systems (unless your a seasoned RVer. If you pick up at 6am, due back time is 6am. If you want to pick up at 2pm and bring it back at say 6pm there is an hourly charge of $10 an hour.

****Is there child seat anchors? No, the reason is that RV manufacturers are not required to install them as the laws don't apply to RV's (they are exempt due to weight) There is a shoulder and lap belt (standard in one seatbelt, not separate) A child seat can be installed facing towards the rear of the RV with this.

****Can we fit 4 in this RV? No, there is only 3 seatbelts. I do have a 4 person Roadtrek though very similar to this one. See my other listing.

****How long will the water last? I can make a tank last over a week but if you wash dishes like you do at home (Leave the faucet on) expect to run out in 2-3 days. I provide a dish tub for washing dishes at that campground dish wash area. Another way to conserve water is using the campground toilet or rest stop/gas station bathrooms whenever possible.

The van is absolutely great! It has everything you need and it drives great. There is a bit of vibration on steering but nothing that bother me. We drove from San Francisco to Yosemite without any problems. Andrew explained everything about the RV to us (since it was our first time in an RV). He was super paciente answering all of our questions and he answered all my text messages very fast. I may rent this van again for some other trips I plan to do. Totally recommend it.

Andrew was very responsive in his communication, both in leading up to the booking, and during the trip. Whenever we had questions, we could just text and and he'd reply in a timely manner. This was a big factor in our renting the van because it was our first time. There were a few other vans that we considered, but the renters took over a week to respond to our initial inquiry!

As for the van it…

It was so awesome! I was able to drive from San Francisco all the way to Minneapolis in snowstorms. Got to visit Mount Rushmore, the Badlands of South Dakota, went all over Montana, Wyoming, Nebraska, and the Dakotas. The van was fantastic. It did great in snow and ice as well.

Great camper van! Easy to use, very comfortable, and it had a space for everything we brought! Andrew was great, and very accommodating. He answers any questions via text message super fast! You can't go wrong with renting Vanna!

Let me say first that Andrew was very easy to work with and attentive to our inquiries remotely when the water stopped flowing in the RV. He also reduced our 4 day rental to 3 and worked with Outdoorsy to get us the full refund value for the forth day when we suspended our trip and returned the van early. Our problem was the tap water shut down to a trickle after our second day on the road. This d…

Richard Originally requested to book for 3 nights but I have a 4 night minimum. He managed to use all the fresh water in 2 days (The drains were over flowing and the tank gauges read full, yet he is is convinced he didn't use all the water) I filled the water when he arrived and turned on the outside faucet and there was no leaks and no problem with the water pump. I dumped the tanks and confirmed…
