Going from tent camping to the RV life may seem like a big jump, but not with Karl the Kamper. If towing is your worry, Karl can be towed by nearly any vehicle that has a 2" hitch receiver, I even include the brake controller and the hitch with weight distribution if that is needed. With a full-size bed, TV inside for those stormy nights, and an outside shower with an attached curtain, you can live the luxury life anywhere you choose. The camping experience isn’t complete without these already included add-ons (see the “What’s included” section for additional items).
• Full-size electrically heated bed (54x74”)
• Side mounted table and griddle
• 12v refrigerator
Winter considerations:
The freshwater tank does not have a tank heater and therefore cannot be used from November to February. If you wish to use the heated mattress, shore power or the generator must be used. I can also include a portable Mr. Buddy heater with a 1 lb. propane tank, just ask.

Meet your host, Jonah and Mareike

Our story always stemmed from travel, and that is the gift we want to give you. My wife and I met in Heidelberg, Germany at the train station McDonalds, very romantic I know. Then our second date was a full weekend trip near the border of the Czech Republic where our shared love of travel began. From that weekend forward, we have been on countless adventures together from Amsterdam to Paris to Italy and now locally around New Mexico. Being in such a unique area has shown us that traveling by camper is the best way to see all that the Southwest has to offer. When we purchased Karl back in 2021, our intent was to get away from the crowds; that is exactly what happened. Beginning on some random forest service road, we camped next to a flowing quiet stream and then followed that with a few days in Taos (in the off season of course) that drew us in. Now we hope to pass on this love for adventure to you!

Have a question?Get answers directly from the host

Q.How do the electric, water and sewage hook up work while setting up at the campground?
A.
It's as simple as it gets. Plug the hose in with the in-line filter then plug the electric cord in and you are all set. There is nothing more required.

Q.What flexibility is available for picking up and dropping off the RV?
A.
I work Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. so to do pickups or drop offs during my normal working hours we will need to discuss that at least 2 weeks prior to your trip.

Q.Are there any special tricks and tips that would help with operating the RV easily?
A.
The only thing that is different with this camper would be the outside shower. There is a curtain that attaches with magnets to the flip up kitchen ceiling and then the shower attachment clips into the sink. This is also the best area to place the folding camp toilet for privacy at a campground.
