Meet your host, Alex

Member since 2017

First & foremost, we are very AVID RV campers, outdoor types and love our furry pet family members, too! There's nothing like pulling into a campground or RV resort, getting set up & sitting down around a campfire with loved ones and a cold (or hot) beverage!

Class CRental #8405

Our 2006 Winnebago "Minnie Winnie" is a 31 ft. Class "C" motor home. So, it looks (and drives) like a large van on steroids. It has one Huge super slide-out, which creates a ton of room in the kitchen/dining area & living room. It has water resistant Pergo hardwood floors throughout, except in the master bedroom, which has carpet. It has an awning that runs the entire length of the RV. (Most awnings only run 50%-60% back). Our RV sleeps up to 8 people total. It has a separate master bedroom w/ a walk around queen size bed and foam mattress topper, another queen size bed above the cab (also with a foam mattress topper), along with a couch & dining table that can both fold down to sleep 2 shorter people each. (less than 5 ft 6". Sleeps 4-6 adults & 1-4 kids; 8 people total, very comfortably!) Has a separate shower & a toilet w/ bathroom sink. Has one flat screen TV, DVD player, kitchen sink, stove, oven, generator, microwave, propane/electric large dorm-size refrigerator with a small freezer, as well as a portable propane griddle / grill for outside cooking (Preferred).

  • Sleeps: 8 guests
  • Seats: 8 seatbelts
  • Fresh water tank: 45 gallons
  • Fuel: Gas

Alex Dunn canceled the booking 4 days before departure. This is an automated posting.

Alex’s answer

The Primary Renter, Brianna Lane, misrepresented her age (under age 25) as the Primary Renter, then refused to update a new Primary Renter’s contact info to the only verified driver, Lorie Lane. In addition, we needed to raise the security deposit amount, which she also refused. Based on her lack of interest in working with us to protect our asset, we made the difficult decision to cancel their booking. However, we did take the extra step of contacting Outdoorsy support and ask for their help in finding a different RV for the Renters trip. This was our first and only cancellation in the last 5+ years.

Excellent trip! Alex went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. The camper was clean and ready to go for us. Zero issues on our trip and an easy return. This was our first rental experience and will not be our last! Highly recommend!!!

Life was good while we rented "Life is Good!" from Alex. I had read in other reviews that Alex was prompt to respond, and they were correct. Along each step in the process, Alex replied promptly to any and all questions that I had. The RV is well represented on the website. It came fully stocked with everything that we needed to start our trip. Alex takes time to throughly go over all the workings of the RV. The only part that we did not use was the awning, and that is because it was damaged by a previous renter and although it was usable, it was a bit tricky. This RV is a bit older and it is beginning to show some wear and tear. If new and shiny is what you are looking for, then Life is Good is not for you. If you want a comfortable, reliable RV to make memories in, then this is the RV for you.

We used the RV as a bus basically so we could transport my Father with medical conditions that prohibit traveling in a regular vehicle. We didn't stay in it, but we enjoyed it the entire trip from TN to Panama City Beach. Alex was great with communication which I really appreciated. It was my first RV trip and I'll definitely consider staying in one next time around!

Alex was extremely easy to work with before, during and after our rental. He explained everything in detail prior to us starting our RV adventure and he answered our questions during our rental period. RV was clean and in good shape and our kids can't wait for our next RV experience. We will definitely rent this RV again when traveling in the Knoxville area.

Night before our trip we were informed the fridge/freezer did not work and we would be supplied with a cooler, beer and cookies in it's place not by our request. We took our own cooler also. The awning was broken and enforced with some plywood and we were asked to sign an agreement to not use the awning or incur charges for further damages. Two hours into trip the generator power connector failed, and therefore the A/C in RV reached temps of 88 degrees inside. We were advised to keep driving and open windows and await further instruction from owner's RV mechanic which did not materialize. We were able to locate an RV mechanic en route(only because he picked up his cell on a Saturday during dinner) who identified the melted electrical plug via FaceTime and agreed to fix it if we drove another hour to his personal residence. Owner paid repair, and owner offered to pay for our night's accommodations since we missed our reserved campsite. Later at end of trip owner decided against accommodation reimbursement. My advice is to keep any and every receipt for items/services incurred during entire trip such as ice for coolers, tire gauges when supplied item is faulty, tape as needed for minor repairs when events such as dashboards fall off dash during highway driving or metal trim falling off/hanging due to metal degradation. We were unable to use advertised shower because a cooler was in its place. The fridge only worked with shore-power until the last 3 days when it did not work at all. Keep pictures and catalog events by date and time to help protect yourself from frivolous charges that will be deducted from your security deposit. There are a lot of RVs available and my advice it is choose one that actually has the advertised capabilities and do a thorough walk-thru before your trip.
