The Coachmen Freedom Express is a great smaller sized motorhome rental that is well maintained and reliable for Alaskan exploration. Lots of available storage using inside cabinets, as well as a large exterior compartment outside.2406 is fully self contained and includes many convenience items to keep you warm and comfortable during your trip. 2406 includes an on-board generator, for AC power and to recharge the coach battery. Also included are indoor plumbing with a fresh water tank, black water tank, gray water tank, fresh water pump and hot water heater. Other amenities
include furnace, gas/electric fridge/freezer, and more that you would expect from an RV. This was the first trip to Alaska for myself and my kids ages 10 and 12. Airport pickup was easy and the rundown on how everything works was easy to follow. We spent 10 days traveling and exploring, and with some helpful tips (from Pat) on places not to be missed, the kids and I had an absolute blast. Everything worked in the RV flawlessly, we had plenty of space, windows for everyone to see all the beautiful mountains, lots of storage, fridge, stove and microwave made cooking while we traveled a breeze. Return of the RV was simple and the ride back to the airport was a nice e touch so we didn’t have to worry about transport. Communication before, during, and after our trip was excellent, they were very accommodating and quick to respond. A lesser caliber company and vehicle couldve made this trip pretty rough, I’ve heard stories about things breaking down on folks and them being stranded, but I had zero worries of that with the folks from Alaska Family Motorhomes. I highly recommend them for making sure your trip to Alaska is everything you hope it will be.

RV was just what they said it was. Unlimited miles and generator use is a big plus when traveling around Alaska! We enjoyed our time and will definitely book with them again in the future.

This experience ruined our Labor Day weekend. RV was poorly maintained and not fully functional. Black water tank was not empty when we got it. The fridge did not work and filled the RV with propane, and when the fridge finally turned on it froze all of our food. The generator spewed smoke so we couldn't use it. The RV water tank wasn't full and the RV was dirty when we got it. Alaska Family Motorhomes thought the appropriate response was to refund HALF of ONE day of our 3-day rental, despite the fact the RV was not functional.

I am sorry that you had a difficult time. Due to the battery not being charged due to the short run time, it caused a mutlitude of problems. We have not had any complaints of the issues you discussed on this rid.
As you might be aware, the black water gauges are notoriously unreliable. Even though we supply at least 4 rolls of RV toilet paper free on every trip, sometimes people run out and but the wrong type. It then hangs up on the sensors in the tanks.
As we mentioned to you, we just changed oil on the generator and this caused the smoke issue, It has been performing fine after your trip and before.
We tested the frig thoroughly multiple time after you returned it and it worked fine. The battery was fully charged and it had no problems. It has never filled the coach with propane prior or since. I am not sure how to respond to this. We have seen times when the stove was not shut off all the way? Again, we took this safety issue very seriously and checked this RV out thoroughly. All the charge circuits were tested and the battery was tested and they check fine.
As we mentioned to you we did have the RV cleaned prior to some preventive maintenance before your trip. However we forgot to touch up the floor before you got it. Sorry about that.
We initiated a refund of 17% without any request from you.
