The wife wanted a trailer that she could pull herself and take on her own adventures in the summer while she’s out of school. While we’re not using the R-Pod, we’d love for you to enjoy it around Alaska.
The best part about our 2014 182G is the rear “garage” space. It includes a sink, storage bins, storage baskets, hooks, stereo speakers and TV hookup. It also can be used to hook up water and gas for outdoor cooking. The garage is lighted and we keep a few things stored there such as locks for bikes and generator, s’more making items, Weber bbq, hibachi grill and a Traeger tailgate sized wood pellet grill. We also keep a dutch oven and charcoals chimney in the back. Ask us about our five time state championship and two trips to the world Dutch oven cook offs.
As you can see in the photos, our R-Pod can sleep four since we have two bunkbeds and a dinette that turns into a queen-sized bed. There are sleeping bags, blankets, and pillows for for all beds and a blowup mattress for the dinette bed. There is also a TV, DVD player and cables, radio, and a couple decks of cards. Please note the TV will require a generator or power in order to use.
The kitchen area has a stovetop with two burners, a fridge, and a microwave. There is a pot and pan set, plates, bowls, silverware, cooking utensils, and glasses. The microwave requires a generator or power to use.
The wet bath is fully functional with a toilet, sink, and shower. The shower is directly in front of the toilet.
The R-Pod has two batteries and two propane tanks.
After your trip, please return our R-Pod like you received it including full propane tanks, and empty sewage and water tanks.
What's included
Two lawn chairs, cookware, utensils, three sleeping bags, four pillows, assortment of blankets. Pick-up is preferred. If you need a vehicle to tow the R-Pod, we can rent an older Toyota Sequoia or Chevy Suburban for $125 per day.
Recommendations
The R-Pod was made to handle well and go almost anywhere. We’ve converted the state from homer and Seward to Denali, Fairbanks and down to McCarthy and Valdez. And sometimes we just head down to Palmer, Eklutna or Portage for a quick camping trip.
Other things to note
Pets welcome but please clean up after them. No smoking! $500 cleaning fee for smoke or fish smell. $100 charge if we have to fill the propane tanks and $50 charge to dump the w/s tanks.
