The Great Outdoors

Another large, beautiful area that’s easily reachable from your motorhome rental at Park Ridge RV Campground is Ozark National Forest, where you’ll see the most astounding of views of mountains and hills covered in green, leafy trees that change color with the seasons. Other than high mountains, there are also caverns in the area that are ideal for hiking and spotting birds and other wildlife. Find your favorite of all the trails, have a yummy picnic, or do some primitive camping - this forest has it all.You can also choose to stay really close to your Van Buren camper rental and give Lake Louemma Park a visit. This is another place that’s perfect for watching the colors of fall slowly taking over the summery greens, with the lake doubling the views of the stunning trees. Fishing is allowed with a license, and if you’ve had enough fish, for the time being, you can just walk around and marvel at how it can seem like the pace and noises of the city are so far away when in reality, they’re just around the corner. If you cross the Arkansas River, you’ll find Fort Smith National Historic Site, located in, you got it, Fort Smith. This place has many exhibits that show you what life was like when the area was full of soldiers and dangerous outlaws followed by the brave lawmen trying to keep them in check. Take the audio tour, see the buildings and grounds for yourself, or just walk along the river for a bit before it’s time for another picnic in the sun. Take a look at what’s growing in the Historic Officer’s Garden, earn a Junior Ranger badge, and enjoy the mesmerizing sunset at Belle Point.

Exploring the Area

If you’re all filled up with fascinating historical knowledge, it might be time for some more physical fun, and where do you find that? At the fun parks, of course. Alma Water Park is a lot of fun for the whole family, whether you like to splash around in the water and slide down the slides at the speed of light or prefer to do some sunbathing in the glorious weather. There’s also a trampoline park, perfect for small legs full of energy. When the kids (and you, admit it) have had their fun, it’s time for some shopping - for antiques. You’ll find the most picturesque boutiques and stores filled to the brim with collectibles in the heart of Van Buren, which is also the perfect place to pick up some local Ozark crafts and wander around some of the many art galleries. You can put your wit and creativity to the test in an escape room, or go on a date night with dinner and then a play at the theater - hopefully, you brought some smart shoes for the occasion.Van Buren camping sounds pretty amazing, doesn’t it? Well, the RVs won’t book themselves so you’d better hop to it if you don’t want to miss out on all the fun and relaxation.

Questions about RVs?

Q.

What type of RV should I choose?

A.

Start by determining how many people are planning to travel with you. Going on a solo-journey? Choose a camper van or a teardrop trailer. Bringing the whole family along for the ride? Consider a spacious Class A or five-wheel.

You’ll also want to consider amenities. For example, if you’re planning to cook on the road, you’ll want a kitchenette. If your campground doesn’t have public restrooms, you’ll want to search RVs with bathrooms. Check out full descriptions of our models to help you decide here.

Q.

Do the RVs have bathrooms?

A.

Yes. Class A’s, Class B’s, and Class C’s and five-Wheels typically have bathrooms. Depending on where you plan on camping, you’ll want to double-check the availability of restrooms if selecting a rig without a bathroom. Nervous about renting an RV with a bathroom? Owners can help show you how to clean the tank or will offer to do it for you for a fee.

Q.

How does check-in work?

A.

Once an Owner approves your RV reservation, you can coordinate a time to pick up your rig or have it delivered to your doorstep or campsite. At that point, the owner will do a key exchange with you and walk you through the RV and answer any questions you might have.
