Meet your host, Dustin

The RV you are about to rent has been to Canada and Mexico and all the Western states many times. Our favorite places to dry camp is on Bureau of Land Management land in the high desert of Southern California. Our favorite long trip is through Death Valley, the darkest place in the United States. So many stars.

Class CRental #54367

Easy to drive Class C with great gas mileage of about 20 mpg due to the 180hp Mercedes diesel engine. Sleeps 6 (5 comfortably), has one automatic slide-out, microwave oven, gas stove, dual propane/electric refrigerator, sat dish (bring your receiver), tv, central a/c, onboard generator, comfortable leather-like driver and passenger seats, power stairs, indoor shower, outdoor shower, awning, seatbelts for six, cd and DVD player, Bluetooth. Ride and camp in comfort as this unit is fully self-contained. Pets ok if you protect upholstery and clean up after. I have a parking spot for your car while you are renting, if needed. This RV is no wider than a full size truck, so it's easy to drive and park. It is tall, though, so you have to watch out for low branches. The backup camera works half the time, so sometimes you have to use mirrors to back up. New upholstery and tires within the last year. Full mechanical check-up July 2020z Here is a youtube of the same make and model: https://youtu.be/3ShSbpyiUdM

Awesome experience utilizing the Outdoorsy app. Our RV owner Dustin, was GREAT- so easygoing and communicative. Made very last minute plans for this trip and it all went off without a hitch. So glad we took the plunge and decided to go this route. I’m glad to contribute to such an ingenious business model. MLoved the RV, perfect size for our needs, and would rent it again. Cheers..

Dustin was great. We had a wonderful 2 week vacation in the RV. It was the trip of a lifetime! No problems, and Dustin was very helpful, both before and during the trip.

We are first time RV campers ~ first time to rent in Outdoorsy and first time to drive an RV this size. Dustin made our RV rental experience a very smooth one from the beginning when we booked until the time we returned it. As first timers obviously we had so many questions but Dustin answered them all clearly and quickly. He’s super responsive and very detailed in explaining how to use the RV from inside and outside. When we picked up the RV , it was clean, appropriate tanks were full & everything was in working order. Dustin clearly explained and showed us how the RV works, he even provided a checklist to ensure our RV is ready to go, as well as information in a binder that has all the possible questions we may have. We are a family of 5 (with 2 teenagers & a puppy), and we all slept comfortably. Dustin is helpful, communicates very well, easy to talk to and super nice. Our first RV experience is a total success, the entire process from start to end was easy & hassle-free. We highly recommend renting from Dustin.

Do not rent from this owner. Major marijuana smell throughout the cabin upon pickup. Do not rent from this owner. I mentioned it right away and he said he couldn't smell it. Told me that the electric stairs weren't working, so he would supply a stool instead, which was acceptable until the last day of travel. Test drive went well and he was very patient during the process. Pointed out lots of heavy-use/heavy-wear items that could result in expensive repairs (this concerned me, but I knew we would treat the RV like our own, so, wasn't too worried. I paid an extra fee to pick it up "early" ($60-$70) which was kind of ridiculous in hindsight (standard pickup should be 9 AM or thereabouts). The first issue with the rental was after a short 5 hour drive, driving normal highway speeds, we showed indications of overheating (no major issue, just pulled over to coll back down). The third day was where the trouble began. Transmission went out in Bryce Canyon, Utah. Great efforts were made by us, coordinating the tow, getting maintenance to come out the next day, lots of phone calls and emails back and forth. Dustin was communicative, but was unable to help us to any real degree, as he was having trouble contacting Outdoorsy, too. Dustin has a calm demeanor, which was the only reason I didn't lose my cool with him. Outdoorsy was super nice and professional, but were of no help to us either. We were stranded and in a very dangerous area of Bryce Canyon. The last 5 days of our vacation were coordinating tows to our campsite, staying in a sketchy parking lot with lights shining all around us as if we were in a prison yard, cancelling reservations at other sites due to being stranded for nearly 2 full days. Finally, we were nearing the end of our trip and had to make it home. Turns out, the transmission (which had ALLEGEDLY been checked only a week before we rented it) took a complete and total "poop". I had already mentioned that it was the transmission, but Outdoorsy had to verify and the nearest mechanic was 40 miles away. Meanwhile, Dustin started questioning WHY the transmission went out, alluding to excessive or irresponsible driving conditions, which I immediately denied. We had our two small dogs with us and after going through 3 separate tows, they had been thrown around a bit, while all of our items in the cabin had been secured safely, so as not to cause damage to anything. It was a shock to us that Dustin claimed that there was damage to knobs, the shower (which we used once). The below items were claimed
Excess Mileage $210.70 (agree)
Interior Damages $603.47 (completely bullpoop)
-Shower Door $440.00 (used shower once, hardly used the toilet other than #1)
-Privacy curtain has torn $20.00 (Don't recall it ever being closed except for a few times we were all in the cabin while parked)
-Stool $22.00 (agree. It was an old stool that was likely over 10 years old, Target might sell same for $10-$13)
-Broken latches on two drawers $40.00 (total bullpoop, no clue what he's talking about)
Total $814.17 - less $500 security deposit = $314.17

Dustin was great to work with -- very communicative and thorough and answered every question along the way. A great find and a great person to work with, especially if you're new to the RV'ing adventure!

It’s my first time renting an RV. I’m so thankful to Dustin he was nice and he response quick. He made me feel like one of his family not a client. We had such a great experience and definitely would rent again
