We're Paul and Marian. Our history starts in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, where we owned and operated hotel boats on waterways in Europe. The boats were often moored in Amsterdam as budget hotels. We met a lot of people from all over the world doing this for 13 years. Paul is an American who transferred his skill as a passenger vessel skipper to the States, and we worked in some of the most scenic places in the USA - the Florida Keys, Minnesota, Utah, and Arizona. We finally dropped anchor in the Pacific Northwest. We spent much time with our four children camping in the mountains and on the beaches of our new home on the west side of Puget Sound, venturing into the outdoor splendor of the Kitsap and Olympic Peninsulas. Paul spent time narrating for passengers as Captain of the Victoria Clipper, educating them on the scenery, geology, history and culture of this magnificent corner of the world. We would love to share our R-Pod "Bear" with you for your own adventures.
2018 Forest River R-Pod 179. "Bear" comes fully equipped with bedding and kitchen utensils. The queen bed comfortably sleeps 2 adults and the bench with table dropped down can sleep one adult or 2 children. "Bear" is light enough at 2750 lbs (empty and dry) to be towed behind many SUVs. This is a small trailer that is especially cozy for a single person or a couple with small children.
Trailer returned with odor of smoking inside.
One person, self-bailing, weighs about 60 lbs.
Pair of Thule aluminum cartop carriers for crossbars.
Metal. Folds flat. Accommodates 100 lb dog.

Paul and Marian's R-Pod was perfect for our family of 3. We did a fair bit of cooking, and the kitchen had everything we needed. Everything else in the trailer worked as advertized. Beyond the exceptionally clear communication, the 1-hour tutorial before we set out was very useful. Paul showed us how to set up the weight-distributing hitch that he provides. For what it's worth, we towed the trailer with a Honda Odyssey, which is probably as "light" a vehicle as you would want to use to tow an R-Pod. Paul's hitch certainly helped in that regard.

Rich, Thank you for that wonderful review. I'm delighted that you appreciated that we made you suffer through our presentation and introduction to "Bear." We are thankful that you found it worth the time. Thank you for being such a pleasant person to work with and for returning the trailer so clean. We would be happy to rent to you again. Regards - Paul and Marian.

We had a great weekend exploring with “Bear”. The camper came with everything you’d need, from pots and pans to camp chairs. Really comfortable mattress, well maintained trailer and excellent hosts. Paul and his wife were very flexible, organized and thorough. Would definitely recommend renting their unit.

Renting from Paul was a wonderful experience. Communication was excellent and he is well prepared. The trailer is in good shape and everything except the awning was in great working condition.

We had an absolutely amazing time enjoying Paul's trailer RV over this past weekend! Paul's great communication, candor, and expertise in explaining this RV helped make the whole experience breezy and reassuring. We feel so grateful to have had such a ritzy place to spend the night on our trip - The RV has delightful homely touches, lots of space, a wonderful bathroom/shower, and literally the most comfortable bed you will ever sleep on! This RV tows incredibly easy - Very smooth ride.
