Hello friends, we're Jackie and Shanae from Chicago, IL. We work and live in the middle of the city, but we head for nature as soon as we can get away. The pandemic's quarantine lifestyle pushed us to the purchase of this awesome rig and we couldn't be more excited to share it with others that share the love of travel and adventure!
Our Opus is glamping at its finest! It's a fully equipped, 19' foldout camper that packs into a small 14'l x 6.5” trailer that can be towed with a small vehicle. The camper takes ~20 minutes to set up and it can be done by one person (though easier with two). The camper has pressed steel coupling for standard 2" hitch ball fittings and has a dry weight of 1550lbs (we can easily tow it with a Rav4 Hybrid and get 30mpg in the midwest. You need a 7pin tow adapter (your car must be wired for brake lights, turn signals etc to work) or if you have a brake controller you can take advantage of the trailers electric brakes.
The Opus features two double beds in zip-able pods for privacy. The leatherette sectional converts into a third bed to sleep six total in the camper. There is a stainless steel sink for running water (with large water holding tank under the camper), two burner stove, a heater and large skylights for star gazing. The battery charges while hooked up to the trailer so you have access to power when you're off grid (12v and 240v electrics, power sockets.)
If you're nervous about set up and/or are relatively new to camping, we have extensive directions and can show you how to set up/break down.
The host hasn’t specified this detail.
The annex has different configurations. 1. 12' x 8' room can used with or without walls as a sun canopy or totally enclosed. 2. The two side pods with privacy screens can be added for additional sleeping quarters for four (+) more campers or used without walls for luggage/equipment storage.
Jackie is a great communicator and keeps a tidy trailer. We had a great time and would rent again another time for sure.
