The RV resort is surrounded by multi-million dollar homes and yachts, but you can get an RV rental space for less than a tank of gas. As you might imagine, the Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort is a popular location, so don't be surprised if you are camped next to a famous CEO, actor, or sports star.
If driving your RV as close to the beach as possible is your idea of the perfect vacation, then Dockweiler RV Park in Playa Del Ray, California may well appeal. This park is right up by the beach, and is also within easy reach of Huntington Park and the city, giving you the best of both worlds when you park up here. It has water, sewer and electric, as well as showers and restrooms, which can be useful when you are in and out of the ocean all day long. The park has space for around 100 units, but during the summer it can get busy with arrivals and departures, so it is a good idea to check ahead and discuss the best time to arrive. Pets are welcome, and, when you want a change from days spent swimming, surfing, or doing water sports, you can head into the city, or out onto the Marvin Braude Bicycle Trail, which is just a short distance from the park.
Prime waves can be found in the Huntington State beach between late spring, summer and into the fall, note only advanced surfers should test these waters since there are potentially dangerous conditions. When not surfing you can enjoy the wildlife at the Snowy Plover Reserve which is located at the southern end of the beach between Talbert Channel and the Santa Ana River, this is home to endangered species such as the California Least Terns and the Snowy Plover. The park is also a prime spot for surf fishing, an array of fish can be caught along these shores.
Bolsa Chica State Beach extends three miles from Sunset Beach to Seapoint Avenue along Pacific Coast Highway. Bolsa Chica is a perfect place to go surfing, play volleyball, enjoy water sports, get together with loved ones or to simply kick back and watch the sun set. In Bolsa Chica you will also have an array of fish to catch while you practice your surf fishing. At new and full moons during the summer, you can take part in bare-handed fishing for California grunion, a species that only spawns in southern California beaches. Since the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve is located across the beach, wildlife and bird watching are also a popular past time. Easy access for your RV rental you can't get much closer than this to the waves.
A linear day use park over one mile long and 140 acres, situated in the mouth of Santa Ana Canyon in the city of Anaheim. The linear environment of the park site recaptures the river setting of the adjacent Santa Ana River. Because the park is in a historic setting in an area where such names as Yorba, Peralta and Dominguez were common, the Orange County Board of Supervisors recognized the 1976 opening of the park site by designating Yorba Regional Park as the official Orange County bicentennial project.
