The Eagle's Nest Resort just east of Porterville, California has lots of trees and plenty of shade. It is conveniently located just off highway 190. They offer full and partial hook ups, tent sites, and have bathrooms and showers. There is room to accommodate large groups. If you get tired of lounging in your lawn chair in the shade, the swimming pool provides another option to escape from the heat! The nearby river provides ample opportunities for fishing for bluegill, crappie, and trout, or simply spend the afternoon rock-hopping on the bank. Kids will have fun playing at the water's edge, and there is even an on-site laundry in case they fall in! There is a camp store which provides the basics, like ice, but the handy location just outside of Porterville means you are never far from all amenities. Porterville, California has restaurants, shopping, groceries and any services you might need.
One of the nearest RV sites to Delano, California, is in Bakersfield, which is 23 miles away. The site is in a lovely setting, with the Kern River flowing just a few feet away from the RVs. You can spend a relaxing few hours here while fishing, or you could just take in the sun. Bakersfield River Run RV Park has plenty of amenities; full hookup, WiFi, 70 - channel cable TV, restrooms and showers, and laundry facilities. The sites are surrounded by grass and are far away from each other, giving you plenty of privacy. It's a great place to sit and have a picnic. Also on site is a swimming pool, spa, and recreation room, with a TV, and an exercise room. You will be able to spend a very enjoyable day here if you don't feel like leaving the park. If you are coming with a group, the park can provide you with a full kitchen, a barbecue, and a meeting room. There is a store on-site, which sells propane and groceries. If you want to go out to eat, Delano has plenty of great restaurants.
