The Great Outdoors

One of the top spots for recreational activities in Riverside County is Lake Perris State Recreation Area. Fortunately, it’s less than 40 minutes' drive away when you’re camping at Bogart Park. The area offers a wide range of activities both on land and on the water. You can choose to bring a picnic to a shaded table, lounge on the sandy beaches, or swim in the lake. There are also opportunities for snorkeling or scuba diving and motorized or non-motorized boating so you can explore a larger section of Lake Perris. Back on the land, the recreation area offers seven hiking trails of up to nine miles in length. There’s even a Native American heritage museum where you can learn about the former inhabitants of the forest. For something a little less developed and a little more isolated, you can take your campervan rental west to Chino Hills State Park. Spread across 14,000 acres of open hillsides, Chino Hills is a hub of biodiversity and the perfect place to relax in nature. Although facilities are basic, the park boasts over 90 miles of multi-use trails which are best explored by bicycle. You can spend an entire day paddling the park’s lush hills, looking for wildlife, or investigating the diverse range of plant species. If you keep your eyes upwards, you may spot California quail, owls, or red-tailed hawks. Chino Hills is a natural haven for over 200 species of wildlife, including birds, mammals, amphibians, and reptiles.Another highlight of the region is Mount San Jacinto State Park which sits alongside the rugged slopes of San Bernardino National Forest. One of the key features of the park is the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway in Chino Canyon. This carries passengers to the summit of Southern California’s second-highest mountain, Mount San Jacinto. A ride on the Aerial Tramway affords spectacular views of the surrounding forests, but anyone who prefers to take a tougher route can step onto the park's trail network. There are trails that range from moderate to challenging, some of which are suitable for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing during the snowy season. The park also hosts a bouldering area and approximately 180 miles of the legendary Pacific Crest Trail. You can park your RV rental somewhere safe and discover Mount San Jacinto State Park on foot.

Questions about RVs?

Q.

What type of RV should I choose?

A.

Start by determining how many people are planning to travel with you. Going on a solo-journey? Choose a camper van or a teardrop trailer. Bringing the whole family along for the ride? Consider a spacious Class A or five-wheel.

You’ll also want to consider amenities. For example, if you’re planning to cook on the road, you’ll want a kitchenette. If your campground doesn’t have public restrooms, you’ll want to search RVs with bathrooms. Check out full descriptions of our models to help you decide here.

Q.

Do the RVs have bathrooms?

A.

Yes. Class A’s, Class B’s, and Class C’s and five-Wheels typically have bathrooms. Depending on where you plan on camping, you’ll want to double-check the availability of restrooms if selecting a rig without a bathroom. Nervous about renting an RV with a bathroom? Owners can help show you how to clean the tank or will offer to do it for you for a fee.

Q.

How does check-in work?

A.

Once an Owner approves your RV reservation, you can coordinate a time to pick up your rig or have it delivered to your doorstep or campsite. At that point, the owner will do a key exchange with you and walk you through the RV and answer any questions you might have.
