Bolsa Chica State Beach extends three miles from Sunset Beach to Seapoint Avenue along Pacific Coast Highway. Bolsa Chica is a perfect place to go surfing, play volleyball, enjoy water sports, get together with loved ones or to simply kick back and watch the sun set. In Bolsa Chica you will also have an array of fish to catch while you practice your surf fishing. At new and full moons during the summer, you can take part in bare-handed fishing for California grunion, a species that only spawns in southern California beaches. Since the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve is located across the beach, wildlife and bird watching are also a popular past time. Easy access for your RV rental you can't get much closer than this to the waves.
You can have a piece of ocean side property during your stay here. Listen to the sounds of the waves throughout the day and night, take a walk along the beach and enjoy the sun. Within reach is the city of Huntington Beach which is constantly alive. Not only will you find a great beach, but there are many parks, shops, and restaurants to keep you entertained. Near the pier you can visit surf shops, clothing stores and take part in the night life. If you?re lucky you can also witness surfing and extreme sports competitions, volleyball tournaments, and live music as well. At your front step you can have mile of shore line and a marina, within reach are two nature preserves: Back Bay Nature Preserve and the Newport Bay Conservancy, which you can explore via kayak or by foot. When not surfing you can enjoy the wildlife at the Snowy Plover Reserve which is located at the southern end of the beach between Talbert Channel and the Santa Ana River, this is home to endangered species such as the California Least Terns and the Snowy Plover. The park is also a prime spot for surf fishing, an array of fish can be caught along these shores.
A linear day use park over one mile long and 140 acres, situated in the mouth of Santa Ana Canyon in the city of Anaheim. The linear environment of the park site recaptures the river setting of the adjacent Santa Ana River. Because the park is in a historic setting in an area where such names as Yorba, Peralta and Dominguez were common, the Orange County Board of Supervisors recognized the 1976 opening of the park site by designating Yorba Regional Park as the official Orange County bicentennial project.
If you?re keen on surfing then attending the week long U.S. Open of Surfing competition and celebration is a must on your list. This is the largest surfing competition in the world, attracting over half a million people. During nine exciting days you can witness the world?s best surfers, listen to live music, and watch movie premieres and fashion shows. Skateboarding and BMX competitions are also part of the list of events.
