Lemoore is a sleepy little town in the center of California, in between the larger cities of Bakersfield and Fresno. Lemoore is named for a French doctor, Dr. Lovern Lee Moore, who decided to make his home in California’s central valley. Dr. Moore brought together several groups of farmers to form a larger community, complete with a town hall and post office. The small agricultural homesteading community was built on the fertile lake bed of what was once Tulare Lake, a lake that has now since dried up almost entirely.

Lemoore might, at first glance, seem like a quiet, boring, unassuming town in the middle of nowhere, but there are many good reasons to rent an RV and vacation here. The Sierra Nevada Mountains and magnificent national forests and parks of California are never far when you book an RV rental in Lemoore, California, while all of California’s many cities and attractions are within reach from the center of the Golden State.

Discover Lemoore

Explore the Outdoors

When you book an RV in Lemoore, you are in for a treat. California is known to many as one of the most naturally beautiful areas in the country, with spectacular mountain views, majestic lakes, ancient old-growth forests full of the world’s largest trees, and many other geological features.

Freedom Park and Hidden Valley are just a couple of the public parks in the area that you can stop and take some time to relax. These friendly outdoor spaces feature wide open spaces, playgrounds, and rolling walking paths.

A short drive south in the Lemoore RV rental will bring you to Pixley National Wildlife Refuge, a spacious park dedicated to the preservation of both migratory birds and other types of animals like the Tipton kangaroo rat and the San Joaquin kit fox. The vernal pools and old playas mark the shores of what was once Tulare Lake.

Sierra National Forest is a wonderful place to camp overnight in your Lemoore camper rental to get up close and personal to some stunning natural beauty. Sierra has some of the most incredible hiking trails you could possibly travel on, and lots of recreation areas for rock climbing, fishing, mountain biking, and swimming, too.

Sierra National Forests’ neighbor to the north is Yosemite National Park, one of the country’s most famous and beautiful protected land masses. This World Heritage site is known for its granite monoliths, powerful waterfalls, glaciers, and biological diversity.

Kings Canyon National Park has some of the largest trees on record, like the General Grant tree which is the second biggest by volume on the planet. Death Valley National Park and Sequoia National Park are two of the other breathtaking places to explore when traveling around the area in the Lemoore motorhome rental.

Around Town

Lemoore might not inspire a whole lot of confidence when you first lay your eyes on it as far as excitement is concerned, but there is a lot to do in town.

The Sarah A. Mooney Memorial Museum is a fully furnished Victorian home built in 1893 when Lemoore was not yet a town. This charming little museum offers tours to help others get a taste of the life that early settlers once lived.

Outside of the historic downtown area, you can find the Lemoore Raceway which holds all sorts of races on its dirt track. ATV, Jeep, and buggy races are held often, so stop by for some live (and loud) entertainment.

The Tachi Palace is a massive casino and resort complex in Lemoore, and there is certainly lots to do there. Apart from being a casino, the Tachi Palace holds countless sporting events.

The World Surf League Surf Ranch is a state-of-the-art, man-made surfing facility that hosts world-class surfing events like the Founders Cup of Surfing. This impressive complex creates artificial waves so you can surf hundreds of miles from California’s coastline.

RV Parks to Visit

When you rent an RV in Lemoore, there are a few options for places to stay overnight in the area. Viking RV Park has a lovely shaded campground to stay with the Lemoore rental motorhome. This pet-friendly park has a theater room for movie screenings and is available for long-term stays too.

Riverland RV Resort is situated along the Kings River and features stunning scenery and easy access to fishing. Visalia/Sequoia National Park KOA is close to the mountains and has a pool for you to cool off in while staying in the arid central valley. Just two minutes off the main road, you will have no trouble finding this park.

The nearby national parks and forests have hundreds of campgrounds between them, so finding a comfortable place to stay among the trees and mountains is not difficult.
