Catavee Campground is located on Huntington Lake near the Kaiser Wilderness. This campground offers convenient
access to all the activities and events available around Huntington Lake, including the annual sailboat regatta.
The campground is forested and provides good privacy at several of the sites. A few sites overlook Bear Creek, while others offer lake views.

Facilities

This is a more modern campground with paved roads and paved parking spurs that can accommodate RVs up to 30 feet. Each site has a picnic table, grill and fire ring. Drinking water, a pay phone, flush toilets and accessible flush toilets are provided.

Nearby attractions

The Billy Creek Guard Station Museum is adjacent to the campground. It provides historical overviews on Huntington Lake, Native Americans and the Forest Service.

Natural feaures

The Sierra National Forest, located on the western slope of the central Sierra Nevada, is known for its spectacular mountain scenery and abundant natural resources. The terrain includes rolling, oak-covered foothills, heavily forested middle elevation slopes and the starkly beautiful alpine landscape of the High Sierra.

Recreation

There are many hiking trails in the area, including Rancheria Falls, Indian Pools and Black Point. Hikers and horseback riders can access the 12-mile Kaiser Loop Trail, which connects to a network of trails within the Kaiser Wilderness. Huntington Lake offers many activities, including swimming, sailing, boating, non-motorized boating, fishing and water skiing. Additionally, California Land Management sponsors a variety of interpretive programs and nature walks throughout the summer at several locations in the Huntington Lake area.

Yes. Class A’s, Class B’s, and Class C’s and five-Wheels typically have bathrooms. Depending on where you plan on camping, you’ll want to double-check the availability of restrooms if selecting a rig without a bathroom. Nervous about renting an RV with a bathroom? Owners can help show you how to clean the tank or will offer to do it for you for a fee.

How does check-in work?

A.

Once an Owner approves your RV reservation, you can coordinate a time to pick up your rig or have it delivered to your doorstep or campsite. At that point, the owner will do a key exchange with you and walk you through the RV and answer any questions you might have.
