The Great Outdoors

Canatara Park in Sarnia sits right along Lake Huron and you will see a lot of wonderful outdoor views and scenery. You can enjoy the lighthouse, or the migration of Monarch butterflies in season, and though the beaches may be considered rocky, it’s a good place to go for a pleasant walk.

Wawanosh Wetlands Conservation Area is absolutely gorgeous. At sunset you will see amazing picturesque views, wildlife, and an opportunity to hike the area that will leave you wanting more. There is a bridge that connects to a biking and hiking trail that allows you more options. You can walk or bike around the ponds and most of year you will see some wildlife or birds taking flight, which can be breathtaking in itself. It’s a great stop when you rent a motorhome in Sarnia.

Bayshore Park is right on Lake Huron and off the trail around the waterfront, you’ll find plenty of benches to just sit, relax, and watch freighters as they pass by. The water can be incredibly blue, especially during spring and autumn months. You will see plenty of sailboats and large ships setting out and the park is pristine in its maintenance.

RV Parks

Although there aren’t any actual RV parks in the city itself, there are plenty of options available in and around the region. One of those is Country View Motel and RV Resort in Wyoming, Ontario. They have a total of 200 spaces, and offer 30 and 50 amp electric plus full hookups. There are also fire rings in season, Wi-Fi, restrooms and showers. And laundry facilities also add to the comfort of a stay here in a luxury RV rental in Sarnia.

Lakewood Christian Campground is only open between May 1 and October 15, but they have over 360 total spaces, including numerous pull-thru sites as well as back-in sites. They provide full hookup options for up to 30 amp service. They do provide Wi-Fi for overnight sites, swimming, and horseshoes. Further entertainment includes a wading pool, boat rental, and shuffleboard. You’ll also find a playground for children, restrooms and showers as well as a laundry facility on site. They are located in Plimpton-Wyoming, Ontario.

The Lorne C. Henderson Conservation Area provides 145 sites, all of them grass sites. They offer water and electric hook up, restrooms and showers, and a swimming pool and playground for children, in season.
