The 2 added rear seatbelts allow for four passengers (no child seats), and the blackout shades provide full privacy at night, as well as protection from the sun during the day. Recommendations

Road trips throughout New England and the Canadian Maritimes are best as there are endless places to visit, camp, and explore. Enjoy the rocky coast and beaches of Maine, the beauty of Nova Scotia, Lake Champlain and the mountains of Vermont, or the mill towns of Massachusetts. Visit Acadia National Park, Baxter State Park, Katahdin Woods and Waters National Park, or the Cape Cod National Seashore. Longer and international road trips are by request.

Other things to note

We want you to be fully informed before renting our van so that your expectations are met and our rules are transparent and clear. The rental is contingent upon renters following ALL these rules as well as the processes and procedures laid out in the Users Guide. Feel free to contact us with any questions.

* Proof of COVID vaccination or legitimate medical condition for non-vaccination of adults required if we request it.
* All drivers must be at least 25 years old and must be listed on the contract at pick up. A maximum of 4 people are allowed.
* Absolutely NO smoking, vaping or drug use of any kind permitted. Smell of any kind of tobacco product forfeits the entire security deposit.
* We love dogs, too, but sorry, No Pets Permitted.
* No music festivals or other large gatherings, including tailgating, weddings and bachelor/bachelorette parties.
* The vehicle will have a full tank of gas upon pick up and must be returned with a full tank or renter's will be charged a rate of $6/gallon.
* Although AWD and fully off grid capable, off-roading beyond maintained dirt roads is not permitted. Van has only a 6" clearance on the underside. No deep puddles, potholes or up steep inclines.
* No towing of any kind is allowed. Hitch is only to be used for the optional cargo carrier or bike rack.
* The van has a high roof - great if you are over 6'! BUT ... Do not go under any overpasses with less than a 15’ clearance (4.5m)! Be aware of low hanging branches and other items that could damage roof, solar panels, antennae etc.
* No items, such as paddle boards, kayaks, etc, are permitted on the roof. The ladder provided is for maintenance only. Do not stand or sit on the roof. Damage to the roof will result in a claim being filed.
* Propane Camp Stove should be used outside only. Any greasy or overly smelly food, such as fish and bacon, must be cooked outside the van. Lingering odors or stains will result in a fee garnish from the security deposit.
* The 30gal freshwater tank will need to occasionally be refilled, and the gray tanks emptied. Always use the in-line hose filter when refilling. There is no “city water” hookup. Although the fresh tank water is potable and can be used for cooking, cleaning, showering, etc., we recommend using bottled water for drinking. We supply 3gals of fresh drinking water to start.
* Renter is responsible for disposing of all trash, food, and waste before returning the rental. ALL HUMAN WASTES MUST BE REMOVED FROM THE VEHICLE AND SURFACES DISINFECTED BEFORE RETURNING THE RENTAL. No food or solids are permitted down the sink or bathroom drains or the gray water tanks will clog.
* Renter is responsible for any tolls, tickets, tows and impounds. Parking - overnight or during the day - must be in legal, permitted spaces. An EZ Pass toll device is installed and the owner will submit for reimbursal after the rental.
* Travel Restrictions: Renters must share their intended itinerary with the owners. No international travel is permitted unless agreed to ahead of time. GPS is installed.
* Inventory: The replacement cost of missing, broken, or damaged parts or items will be taken out of the security deposit. Photos of vehicle condition will be made at the beginning and end of the rental period.
* Owner will provide an electronic version of the Users Guide, an Inventory, and the Rules List to renters prior to the rental period and will include a printed copy in the van. The owner and renter will go over most aspects of the van at pick up. Renter is responsible for following all instructions and is liable for damages to systems due to nonstandard use, improper handling, or negligence.
* Evie recharges automatically by solar during the day and onboard alternator while driving. There is a 15/30Amp shore power hookup that recharges onboard batteries too. Renter should check battery power level daily and never let it drop below 10%, especially during inclement weather days.
* Safe Speeds: Renter agrees to drive the van at a safe speed and at a safe distance from other cars. It takes longer to brake than in normal car, especially down hill or on wet surfaces.
* Tires and tire pressure will be checked by the owner prior to rental, and should be checked by renter occasionally on long trips using the gauge provided.
* If there is a mechanical issue or other vehicle problem, renter must call Roadside Assistance number provided by Outdoorsy or RV Share insurance and contact the owner. Do not attempt to make repairs. Out of pocket expenses for necessary repairs not covered by insurance or roadside assistance will be reimbursed by the owner upon return of the vehicle provided the owner is contacted prior to the repair, agrees to the expenses, and receipts are provided.
* Return Condition: The van must be returned in substantially the same condition as when it was picked up. All kitchenware must be clean and stored and the counters and table wiped clean. Refrigerator should be wiped clean. If linens were rented, sheets, towels, pillow cases and dish towels should be placed in a provided laundry bag. We will wash the exterior. Deep cleaning of interior of van due to negligence of renter, including stains on bench seats or driver/passenger seats, floors, woodwork, paneling, etc. will result in an additional fee taken out of the security deposit.
* Composting toilet must be emptied, cleaned, and surfaces sanitized before returning if it was used. Failure to do so will result in additional fees. Renters must adhere to the Users Guide for correct toilet use. A waste receptacle is also provided in the bathroom (to be emptied by renters).
* There is no refund for early returns or late starts. Van must be returned at the agreed upon time on the last rental day to 84 Agamenticus Ave, Cape Neddick, ME unless other arrangements are made. Late fees will be applied if you miss the return time.
* Failure to follow rules stated above could result in a garnish from security deposit and/or claim filed at the owner's discretion.

We had an amazing adventure with Evie and really enjoyed the entire experience. Booking was super simple and Peter was always there to answer any questions we had. The van was clean upon arrival and Peter was very thorough in walking us through the ins and outs of how to operate and care for the van. She was really easy to drive, which was a surprise to us, and she came with everything we needed. We probably got the most use out of the Solo fire pit! We used it nightly and even impressed our family with it! We’ve already planned on purchasing one for our next trip in our personal camper! We didn’t end up using the shower as it was a bit smaller than we anticipated, but having the option to shower outdoors with both hot and cold water made up for that. We adventured to Scarborough, ME and Acadia National Park. We had absolutely no issues getting around with the van. I was really worried with height restrictions in Acadia that maybe we wouldn’t be able to get around easily, but I was wrong. We had no issues!

Peter’s answer

Thanks Tiffany - you guys were great renters! Glad everything worked out.

If I could give this experience more than 5 stars, I would! Everything about our van trip was superb. Peter was extremely helpful, offering to help get us to and from the van, and providing recommendations along the way. He was very thorough in his explanation of the systems and provided a detailed booklet of information if/when we needed a reminder of how things worked. The van itself was super comfortable and had MORE than we knew we needed. My only complaint is that it’s on the East coast and we’re on the west coast, which is way too far to rent it as often as we’d like. Thanks for the great memories Evangeline!

Pickup was easy and pleasant. Peter was vey organized and very helpful. Driving the van was also surprisingly easy. We had a wonderful trip in Downeast Maine going all the way to the Canadian border, staying at State Parks and private campgrounds. We slept amazingly well. Bed was super comfortable and we ran the heat every night which was also very nice - not too hot or dry as the fan system is quiet and very efficient. Here's a tip: when you transfer your stuff from your car to the van, just take your stuff, maybe in plastic bags, but leave behind the duffel bags and boxes and totes. The fridge worked great, as did all the other appliances. All in all, a high-end "glamping" experience!

Peter’s answer

Thanks for your kind words Paul, glad your trip to the border was so nice. Thanks for really working the heater - and glad it functioned so perfectly!

Peter was great. The van is stocked with everything you can need. He provides a very detailed guide book that answers every question you might have while in the road. We had an amazing trip and would rent the van again in a heartbeat.

Have a question?Get answers directly from the owner

Q.How will I know what to bring?
A.
All campervans, even really nice ones like ours, have limited space so packing light is key. We send a detailed inventory of everything included in the van ahead of your rental so you will not duplicate items.

Q.Is there space for larger items like a wheelchair or recumbent bike?
A.
Yes! The cargo carrier can be added to the back (for a small fee) to carry these items. We do not have room for kayaks, paddleboards, canoes, or other larger watercraft however.

Q.What about firewood for camping?
A.
Rent our Cargo Box! It keeps your firewood dry and ready. And, we fill it with wood at the start as per your request. Most campgrounds offer a supply of firewood for purchase too. (Please let us know ahead if you want the Cargo Box as it requires shifting the spare tire location.)
