Please Note: Until camping season opens, our campers are safely in storage. Before and after each rental, we follow the cleaning procedures recommended by the Center for Disease Control, and available on our personal website, www.vintagecampershare.com
This 1965 Frolic has will grab your imagination, especially when you enter! The gorgeous birch interior has been restored to its original beauty. The camper itself is an amalgam of styles: the exterior boasts a fifties vibe, while the interior features artwork by Brooklyn artist Dean Russo: think Woodstock meets the Adirondacks. The camper, called The Flying Cow, was purchased in January 2018 from high atop the Catskills, in Bovina (yes, BOVINE-A) Center, NY. Hence, the name: the "Flying" Cow!
The camper includes electric: which runs the lights, a small heater, microwave, and the vintage aqua refrigerator, original to the camper. We also provide a wonderful aluminum cooler (Coleman) for additional storage. Please note: No Bathroom.
As far as sleeping arrangements: There is a 3/4 size bed in the back suitable for two average-sized adults. Over that bed is a bunk suitable for 1-2 small children or one teenager. Ladder access. The dinette area in the FRONT of the camper folds down, creating a single bed large enough for one adult.
Bring water, food, bedding and paper plates, although we include plastic plates, cups, mugs, silverware, pots and pans.
(we do have several upgrades, or "add-ons" that include linens, for example) See below...
The Flying Cow was fun to refurbish, as you can tell from the photos!
You will be the talk of the campground!
Consider adding the Deluxe Camping Add-On! For $50, we will also provide (and set up) a waterproof gazebo and Adirondack resin chairs (2 adult/2 children). Highly recommended.
Linen Service available ($20 per guest) Includes towels, pillows, bedding.
Finally, WE DELIVER!
Because these campers are irreplaceable, we require that renters pay a round trip DELIVERY/SET UP fee of $1 per mile (round trip) from either Schenectady, NY (12304) or Caroga Lake, NY (12302) and back. Use mapquest, google maps, or call us at 518 605 3668 for the estimate.

The website offers info about campgrounds, party supplies, camp gear and more.
SMOKING NOT ALLOWED.
No water usage or propane gas usage in the camper- I provide a Coleman outdoor stove, two burner, at no cost, plus a table/stand for washing dishes outside, should there not be facilities in the camp for washing dishes. Soap and washbin also provided. Included are two small propane tanks. Bring a couple extra - depending on your time and expected use of the Coleman.
Downloadable list of supplies available in the camper can be found here: vintagecampershare.com
INSURANCE: Rest Assured: You are covered. Both by Outdoorsy ($75,000 Collision and Comprehensive) and also by Triad, my business insurance, which covers liability. Plus, my tow vehicle has commercial insurance coverage by Prudential. NYS laws have made doing business for small business owners difficult. Sadly, we both suffer. (Be glad we are not running this business out of Seattle, however! Worse there!)
Call me if you have any questions: Catherine Light, owner: (518) 605-3668.
NEW! Speaking of NYS Rules and Regulations:
As of 2020, I will be required to purchase a special vendor's permit from NYS Dept. of Env. Conservation to deliver any of our area NYS campgrounds. The cost for this permit is prohibitive. I must pay $100 for the permit itself for my tow vehicle, as well as $2 per campsite located at any NYS Campground.
1. Caroga Lake State Campground, (NO DELIVERY COSTS!)
3043 State Highway 29A, Caroga Lake, NY 12078
2. Moffit Beach State Campground, on Sacandaga Lake
217 Page St, Lake Pleasant, NY 12108 (near Speculator)
3. Northampton Beach State Campground (On the western shore of Great Sacandaga Lake)
328 Houseman St, Mayfield, NY 12117
Delivery is available to other state parks, however, you must be willing to meet at a convenient location outside the park, where we would then transfer the camper to your own tow vehicle to then pull into (or bring out of) the park. Awkward, but the best we can do at this point. Call me for details before reserving.
Please note: there is no electric or water at any of the state campgrounds, and my campers do not have an inventor or alternate source of power. Private campgrounds do offer these amenities and do not require a vendors permit.
Delivery is always required.
$1.00 per mile round trip from either Schenectady, NY 12304 or Caroga Lake, NY 12032. Whichever is closest. Tolls must also be reimbursed, where applicable.
