The park is named for the exceptionally deep gorge carved into the earth over millions of years by erosion from the Gunnison River. The canyon is so deep that it only sees a half hour of sunlight at most at the lowest depths, hence the name “Black Canyon of the Gunnison.” This breathtaking testament to the might and beauty of nature is just one of the many reasons to bring your RV rental to the Colorado park. An astonishing 32 buildings comprise this amazing museum, teeming to the brim with artifacts, photographs, artwork, and other historical gems that help paint a picture of the past.In Crested Butte, you can walk down the small main street and grab a slice of pizza, some refreshing ice cream, or some locally produced rum at the town’s distillery. This gorgeous town is home to the Crested Butte Wildflower Festival in one of the most gorgeous places in the country. On top of that, the Crested Butte Mountain Resort is found in town, home to world-class skiing and snowboarding with high-speed chairlifts and a variety of amenities to dazzle you when you finish hitting the slopes for the day.
