This is a medium length and height VW Crafter, designed and built with three specific requirements:1. A person who is 190cm tall (like me) should be able to stand up inside it, and sleep straight and comfortable. BUT it should not be some origami nightmare to get the bed ready.2. The van cannot be TOO big, i.e you should be able to drive and park it in a city. Therefore it is a medium wheelbase, not one of the massive ones.3. You should be able to live / cook outside it. Indoor cooking is only really for when its cold and rainy. It also has a full indoor and outdoor kitchen, a big fridge, enough lighting settings to keep James Cameron happy, and it uses surprisingly little fuel. And it has AC. That's massive. We have power & charging points in the front, the middle, the bed, and even the garage. There is also a LOT of storage, both in the van, and in the garage. What's includedBEDS:She has a full-size bed, that has a 2m long mattress, that is 140cm wide. This is a normal house-sized bed, and there is no footboard. Meaning you could still sleep in it if you were over 2 m tall. You sleep with your head at the back (rather than sideways), and the bed slides into position. When In "small mode" the bed 100cm x 140cm, so a pretty nice couch. Then it basically doubles in size when it comes to sleeping. It takes under 30 seconds to get ready for bed. There is also a 3rd bed, which comes together when you convert the bench seat. This bed is not nearly so luxurious and is only 45cm wide. But it does a 7cm foam mattress, and it is flat! I would not recommend this for long stays, but it does the job for a 3rd person.ELECTRICS & COOLING:There are many different lighting settings, ranging from "deeply romantic", through to "deep clean in the dark". There are also reading lights in the bed. There is a roof fan that goes both directions and has a thermostat, i.e it comes on if the van gets hot. The van has AC when it is running, and there is a RV heater than can run overnight, if it gets cold with. Again on thermostat. There is an inverter, so you can charge your normal household stuff, but only up to 300w. This means charging laptops and cameras is fine. Running hairdryers is not.The leisure electrics are powered by a 110 amp hour leisure battery. This charges itself from the alternator, and is a separate circuit from the engine battery. This means if you somehow flatten the leisure battery, the van will still start, and then charge it back up. So you will never get stuckCOOKING:The cooking system is simple and designed to be portable. You can cook inside if it's cold, but you can just as easily cook outside. The rear of the van has a "pull-out kitchen" on a drawer. This is designed to be a full kitchen-in-a-box, which then converts into a surface that you can prep and cook on.Likewise, the inside of the van has a massive leaf up kitchen surface, so if the weather is not great, you still have lots of surface space. It uses CampingGaz, which is super simple. We have lots of different attachments, ranging from tabletop double burner, down to ultra-portable campsite burner. It is not as fancy as other systems, but we like it, as you can move it in and out in under 10 seconds, without having to fiddle with tubes. We can also boil 4 different pots at a time, if we like.We also have a Lotus Grill countertop BBQ. This is awesome, as you can grill using coal, but it never gets hot, so you can leave it on the work surface, and pack away immediately. We have a massive Dometic fridge. It goes hot and cold, and can run all day and night.AMENITIES:The van has a bench seat big enough for 2, with a pull-out desk / table that has storage underneath. She has a small cassette toilet. It ain't luxury, but it is better than the alternative. She has a sink with a water pump. Cold water only though. We have a 15 ltr fresh tank, and waste tank inside. We then have additional water tanks in the back.We have an outdoor shower. If you put warm water in it, its warm. If you put cold water in it, it's cold!STORAGE: There is a LOT of storage. There is a place for everything. Including often overlooked things, like where to put the bedding during the day.RecommendationsThe idea behind this van is that it's versatile. It is not TOO big, so you can take it to cities, and get around without too much drama. It also does not use too much diesel.Other things to noteFeel free to bring your pets.
The whole thing is setup and ready to rock. You would not need to bring much.
