Less than an hour’s ride north of Atlanta on 1-75, Acworth rests in the northern fringes of one of the nation’s largest metropolitan areas. Nestled in the hills of northwest Cobb County, Acworth is an amazing setting to rent an RV and explore the natural beauty that Georgia has to offer, with its close proximity to many attractions.

Although Acworth boasts plenty of nearby sights to see, the small town of just over 20 thousand people serves as an ideal jumping off point for your RV adventures, and even has a Walmart Supercenter where you can park and resupply before your trip. This small town absolutely oozes charm with its vibrant Main Street village, complete with many boutiques, trendy restaurants, and live music venues. Just outside Acworth lie two large lakes, which makes it a wonderful RV rental city in the summertime. Also, you can drive a few short hours in any direction, and stumble on some other quaint towns such as Helen, a small mountain resort town with Bavarian style buildings near the Chattahoochee National Forest, and Athens, the cultural hub home to the University of Georgia.

Just outside of the appropriately named “Lake City” of Acworth, you can find yourself taking a dip in Lake Acworth, and Lake Altoona, both of which containing multiple boat ramps, marinas, and beaches to enjoy the gorgeous summertime weather. These lakes are great for all sorts of fishing and other assorted watersports and even served as the location for the 2017 National Wakeboard Championships. Tucked neatly in between these lakes, you can find both George Washington Carver State Park and Red Top Mountain State Park which attract many visitors each summer from Atlanta, and the rest of the country.

If you wish to explore more of northern Georgia, you can rent a motorhome in Acworth and take off to visit the picturesque Chattahoochee National Forest, which contains over 2,000 miles of rivers and streams, 450 miles of hiking trails, and stunning scenery that will make you fall in love with great outdoors.

Northern Georgia is also renowned for its breathtaking natural waterfalls, like the Amicalola Falls and the Tallulah Falls and Gorge, just to name a few.

If you are feeling really adventurous, you can dip over the border to Georgia’s neighbor to the west, Alabama, and enjoy the Talladega National Forest, a 400,000-acre paradise of pristine wilderness and rolling hills of pine trees.
