Sit down and enjoy the peace and quiet, or have a little competition to see who can get the most fish in an afternoon. While you’re in these wildlife management areas, you’ll want to keep your eyes open for just that: the abundant wildlife that’s all around you.Not quite done with the fishing just yet? Then hop into your RV rental and head to Mistletoe State Park, which just happens to be known as one of the finest bass fishing spots in the country. In this park, you’ll definitely be able to sort dinner out, and you can also bring your bike and ride around the beautiful area as well as go swimming or just chilling on the beach. Go birding, geocaching, or hiking, or join in on programs such as astronomy events, concerts, and nature walks. Just make sure not to leave the fish behind when you head back to Elijah Clark Campground.

Exploring the Area

There’s so much to do and see in the area, so park your RV rental in Augusta or Washington and take a look around. If you choose the latter and happen to be interested in military history, then you’ve definitely hit the motherlode. You can go to Kettle Creek Battlefield, where an important battle was fought during the Revolutionary War, or stop by Robert Toombs House and learn about this man and his life story. The place is full of exhibits and displays, so you won’t be disappointed.There are many more historic sites here, so there’ll be something for everyone. Any railway enthusiast needs to check out the Aiken Train Museum, and you’ll hear fascinating stories about Lucy Craft Laney, a slave who became one of the state’s most influential educators, at the Lucy Craft Laney Museum of Black History.
