2 friends in the van for 6 days. Has everything you need. If you're looking at this then you're probably the type of person who doesn't mind living out of a car for a week. Great way to get around Maui. The van is easy to drive, good on gas (used 3/4 tank during the trip). Stayed most nights outside Olowalu. Spots to park, cook, and sleep are easy to find. Great alternative to Hotel+Rental Car ($$$$). Tyler and Gaia were nice. Handoff completed by Tyler's dad, Greg. Nice guy, be sure you arrive when you say you will because there was a couple things that would have been nice to learn from Tyler about the van.
Only negative things I can think of: There were Ice Chests instead of a fridge/freezer combo (pain to deal with ice 2x a day sometimes), and we were charged an extra $50 dollar cleaning fee for "excessive sand on the pull out table." We spent a good hour and a half that morning cleaning the van.

First and foremost, the van was very reliable and we were able to enjoy our day trips on Maui with which I would’ve loved to give this experience 5 stars. Unfortunately...with the pick up and drop off location, we were told that Uber was a reliable option once the van had been returned. Be forewarned to have your ride from the drop off location pre scheduled if possible. For us, Uber was unable to preschedule a ride when we requested one. We arrived to drop off the van and since Uber/local taxi services weren’t available, we were told to leave the property on foot and did not have any other option than to try and walk to the nearest town. While it is not the van owners responsibility to provide a ride service, I personally wouldn’t have left travelers by the side of a remote country road with all their luggage when a quick ride to town would’ve been immensely helpful.

Tyler & ’s answer

Always happy when people enjoy our van.
As for the return, We spoke the early the morning before your drop off about you guys needing to arrange a ride and Morning of we told you wouldn’t be able to help you with a ride.
I understand your frustration but I feel like there was a miscommunication.
We have never had a issue getting a taxi, Uber or Lyft up to our location.

There were a few hiccups in the beginning due to the renter being out of town and her brother covering, however she was quick to respond and get the situation fixed. The van itself is easy to drive, great breaks, backup camera, and the built in CarPlay was awesome. More than enough space for 2 people to sleep comfortably with the pop top. A couple things to note, there is no french press for coffee drinkers and while the windows are tinted, people can very much see inside at night with the lights on, not ideal when parked in a campground, next to others.
