Ever wanted to live in a van down by the river? I have and did, and its wonderful! (Except I’m pretty sure a beaver tried to kill me while I slept.) Let Matt Foley take you on an adventure. He’s open to just about everything. (Within reason)
I’ve done quite a lot with this van, and you can too! Beach camping, solo Utah boondocking, Walmarts, a guy’s backyard, meetups, wineries, breweries, concerts and tons of KOA camping with my twin six year old girls. The beauty of an RV like this is you have everything you need to go off grid, or visit hit the national parks and established campgrounds. Best of all your go anywhere you want and still park it in the tightest of spaces.

A BIT ON THE VAN…
Eastbound and down in safety with electronic stability control and anti-lock brake system, plus a back up camera and collision assist. The van is surprisingly easy and fun to drive. There is a Thule bike rack on the rear door, a gas generator, a solar charge controller with 190W solar panel, and two-house batteries for when you are off the grid. The only thing to do is keep an eye of your battery life and you’ll be good to go. If you’re somewhere that has both water and electric hook up, then its completely care-free. No adjustments needed, or buttons to press. Just sit back and enjoy.

The interior has front captain's chairs that swivel and there is seating for two with a collapsible dinette table just behind the driver's seat. A family of four can eat around the table together. (However, why wouldn’t you eat outside? That’s the point!)
The rear has two sofas that convert into a pull-out bed measuring 72” X 66” in which two people can sleep comfortably, but the best option on the van is the pop top!
I have two TailGater tire tables for additional shelf space outside, and two smaller side tables that can double a dining tables. I also have four folding chairs that I will include IF you need them at no additional charge.

Other things to note

COOKING, EATING, AND DRINKING…
Cooking can be done using the two-burner gas cooktop, or the microwave, OR better yet, grab the additional cooking options. My gas Webber may be small, but its mighty. My Traeger Ranger can do it all and there’s nothing better than smoking a rack of ribs in the middle of the great unknown. (Again, both these are available as additional options)
There is a six gallon propane tank onboard for gas BBQ's or other cooking appliances.
The refrigerator is compact, but can surprisingly hold quite a lot. There is a small freezer insert that actually keep ice cold, AND my martini glasses frozen as well. (You may be roughing it, but there’s no reason to be uncivilized.)
IMPORTANT BATHROOM STUFF…
If you didn’t know there are two “types” of water in an RV, grey water and black water. Grey water is water that’s been used for showering or washing dishes. With Matt you have a grey water hose that easily drains any grey water accumulated. The good news is that grey water can be disposed of anywhere. No restrictions. Just be mindful. You can dispose of grey water in a proper disposal unit in a campground or somewhere, but you can also just let it drain on the ground. The capacity of the grey water tank is 20 gallons.
Black water is…well, not so much black, but…brown. You guessed it, #1 and #2. Matt Foley has a “cassette” system for collecting black water. It is a removable six-gallon cassette cartridge. It almost looks like small overnight bag. (Pic included) Many RV’s have a disposal system where there is a tube that must be connected to an approved receptacle which a typically located in campgrounds, such as KOA’s, or occasionally a service station. IMO, the benefit of a cassette system is the convenience. It is VERY easy to empty and clean. You just remove it from the van and take it anywhere “poop” is disposed of. This can be a rest stop toilet, a port-o-potty or an approved receptable as well. I have even brought it into a Walmart bathroom and disposed of it there. Again, just be mindful.
I spend this much time on this topic because it’s an important one, AND one that new RV’ers usually have the most questions and the most anxiety about. Rule of thumb is if you can find another place for #2, the better, but of course when you’re out in the wild, your choices are limited!!!
One last thing…I ask that you empty and clean out the cassette prior to returning. It’s very simple, empty and a quick wash and rinse of the inside, add a little “black water” treatment and you’re good to go. Failure to do so will result in a $250 cassette cleaning fee. I’m sure you can appreciate why.
There is a small shower stall with a door for privacy.
Matt Foley has freshwater tank with a 27-gallon capacity.
