The stove, hot water, and refrigerator all worked well. The bed is uncomfortable. Even when the support is correctly in place, it has a dip in the middle of the bed. The videos to watch were very good, but it would be nice to put a sticker next to the outlet reminding users that it does not work unless the van is plugged in. The motor is in good shape and runs well.

How do you go wrong when camping out under the stars? We had amazing weather, lots of sun and wonderful hikes. Just what the doctor ordered during Covid. As for the van, the heater didn’t work (not great when you’re not prepared for 30 degree nights) and the bed was not the most comfortable (there’s a gap in the middle so if you are sleeping with 2, well, you both fall into the dip in the middle.)

John’s answer

For anyone reading: the heater is now repaired and the bed lies flat when it's set up correctly. Full video and written instructions are provided. Further, I'm always available by text and facetime to help resolve any difficulties. For Katie: So glad you had a great trip and my apologies again that the furnace went out on you. You'll recall that I offered to personally deliver a portable heater to you and/or have the heater repaired during your trip. When you declined both, I reimbursed you for the heater you purchased and you said it did the trick. I did everything I could to make sure you were comfortable. I'd have been happy to re-walk you through setting up the bed correctly had it been mentioned. I'm super happy that you had an otherwise great trip!

We had a lovely time in The Green Falcon! Everything we needed was in included in the van. John was excellent and responded very quickly. FYI - I would not recommend this van for people over 5 ft 10.

From start to finish John was an amazing host. His van is very cool and retro as advertised and perfect for a weekend camping trip. The bed is super comfy and I'm a 6'1 230-pound guy! His videos are extremely informative and he took the time to cover every base, making my vacation worry-free. He responded very quickly to any questions I had and worked with me to get a refund on an error in charging expense from outdoorsy. I would highly recommend this retro camper and John as a host!

This was my first trip to the southwest and I gotta say this van made the experience exponentially better.

Have a question?Get answers directly from the owner

Q.What are pickup and drop off times?
A.
Pickup is strictly 3pm or later. Drop off is 11am or earlier. Please add the early pickup/dropoff option to add up to 4 hours to your pickup and/or dropoff time.

Q.Do you offer delivery?
A.
Typically, no. But everything has its price and I'm not an exception. For $300, I will arrange to have the van ready at passenger pickup at the time of your arrival.

Q.How do I avoid extra fees?
A.
Sweep the interior, turn off all electronics, close all curtains, return the water jug full, leave the linens and towels on in the provided duffel on the floor, wipe down all surfaces, and empty the fridge. Empty ALL trash; I don't want your food nor your firewood. They aren't gifts, they're trash. Get rid of it. Fill the gas tank; you'll get a full tank of gas upon departure, so return it full in kind, otherwise you'll be charged 2x the cost of refilling.

Q.How do I pick up the van?
A.
I'm a 15 minute, $15-$25 uber ride from the airport. Someone will be at the provided address to give you the keys in person, and otherwise, there will be a lockbox with your keys in the box.
